A woman admitted Monday to fabricating a report of a sexual assault in an unincorporated portion of Santa Ana, authorities said.
A day after telling Orange County Sheriff's Department officials that she had been grabbed from behind, dragged to a dirt lot and sexually assaulted in the 18000 block of Ervin Street, the woman admitted to deputies that she had made up the report, said Jim Amormino, a Sheriff's Department spokesman.
Sheriff's deputies Monday contacted the woman, who they did not identify, on an unrelated matter when she admitted to the false report, Amormino said.
The woman was admitted into a hospital for a 72-hour mental-health hold, Amormino added.

I'm sorry, I know you don't want anyone commenting about any Feminists (or politicians or advocacy groups, male or female for that matter, I would assume you mean) not advocating false rape accusations. Of course no one is going to go on record stating they support false rape convictions!
No, they get around that by perverting the justice system by pushing for ever more sinister laws that make men guilty until proven innocent. Or they make the definition of rape and sexual assault so vague that anything a man does that involves a woman practically becomes a false rape claim by proxy.
You can actually claim with a straight face that this large number of individuals, male & female, are NOT evil and/or psychotic? Evil laws are not airborne viruses that float through the air that exist in a vacuum- they are concocted, pushed & passed by wicked people.
. . . and Bob Dole and his law and order friends in the GOP. Fed.R.Evid. 413 is the most offensive law on the books, and Bob Dole was one of its architects.
"Woman sexually assaulted in Santa Ana, escapes"
...was the headline from the day before. How hard is it to throw "allegedly" in there, really? C'mon, OCRegister!
The police did their jobs just fine here (so far), although there are definitely questions like "what if they had found someone meeting her description?" and "will she be punished if she is found to be sane?" that are important to ask.
"Or they make the definition of rape and sexual assault so vague that anything a man does that involves a woman practically becomes a false rape claim by proxy."
Funny you should mention the ever expanding definition of "rape".
I just read today the Courtney Love is alleging that her deceased husband Kurt Cobain was raped, and an actress named Kim Novak is also claiming that she was raped.
And, as I sure you're wondering, how was Kim Novak raped? And, seeing as he's been dead for 16 years, when was Cobain raped? And by whom?
Well, according to Love, Cobain was raped in 2011, a mere 15 years after his death, by...the Muppets. And, Kim Novak, well she was raped via the use of a musical score from a film she acted being used in a newer film.
[Okay, I'll wait for you to stop laughing...but, please get up off the floor. It's undignified for you to be rolling around like that.]
At the risk of further parodying the word to the point that "rape" will eventually meaning everything, and hence, nothing at all; you can read the details at HuffPo.
