Woman falsely accuses one night stand of rape after he forgot her name

Christine Jordan, 25, was convicted of perverting the course of justice and sentenced to two years behind bars after her rape lie caused an innocent 27-year-old man to be wrongly arrested for rape.

Jordan had consensual sex with the victim. The victim testified that he saw Jordan several days later at a pub, and when he could not remember her name, she gave him "an evil look." Within minutes, police arrived and arrested him on suspicion of rape. He was held in custody overnight.

Jordan falsely claimed that the victim had followed her home from a bus stop, and that, as she opened the front door, he forced himself inside and raped her.

It took a jury less than two hours to unanimously find Jordan guilty of perverting the course of justice.

The sentencing judge, Jonathan Howard, slammed Jordan's false claim as "a tissue of lies." He explained: "Because rape is such a repulsive crime false allegations of rape can have serious consequences. Most obviously for the innocent man who has been falsely accused. But it also has the consequence that you think genuine claims may be false. There is an enormous affect on probable convictions in genuine complaints. These are the reasons why the offence you have committed is so serious. It undermines the whole principles of justice in relation to an offence which is a repulsive crime. Your false claim in this case, made three days after the incident, was a complete tissue of lies. I have to take into account the gravity of the offence."

The victim's mother told a reporter after the hearing that "she [Jordan] deserved it, but the damage has been done.  I am glad that the judge took it seriously. This has destroyed [the victim] and my family. [His] friends said he was always so happy, they have stood by him through this. He would never do anything like this. He is a very angry person still."

Jordan's defense counsel said Jordan had been bullied at school and would be vulnerable in prison.

Jordan is pregnant with twins to another man and will now give birth behind bars.

Thank God she was convicted. Here in America, even Crystal Mangum got a "pussy pass."

The story says the guy used to be a happy go-lucky guy, until false rape accusation turned his life upside down, and turned him into an angry person.
My false Rape accusation has also turned me into an angry person.

The worst thing about false accusations of rape is not the destruction of a male life but the possibility that another lying slut may not be believed, and how awful is that?

Good that she's in prison, I'd of preferred a much longer sentence but i guess something is better than nothing.

I thought her name was Mulva.

And thank God that the judge recognised that the primary harm was to the falsely accused, not to future rape victims.

Amazing, a pregnant woman actually going to jail. No pussy pass for that?

And she has been bullied before and still goes to prison? Amazing.

Feminists should unite to find a solution to such cruel injustice /sarcasm

Comments like that are why people think this site is mysoginistic.

What was so misogynist about Human Stupidity's comment ungodly infotainer?

His use of the word slut.

Oh, I was responding to William Gruffs comment.
This chick is a liar. She's not a slut. The bloke in the story had sex too- yet he gets a pass. It's okay for men to have sex, just not women. It makes me wonder who men are meant to have sex with.

The bloke in the story didn't lie and try to destroy an innocent person's life.

We defend women who've been falsely accused, too. We don't care about the gender.

If there is nothing wrong with being a slut, why would anybody be offended by being called one?

And anyhow, it's amazing that anyone over the age of nine would demand the FCC ban someone from the airwaves for life just for calling someone a slut. It really isn't an especially offensive word.

What FRS @ 7:58 said.

billy williams said...

And yeah, what is so offensive about the term slut?

There are no words vile enough to describe false rape accusers.

Why don't you ask William Gruff that, since he's the one who used it as an insult. There is nothing wrong with being sexually active. Yet 'slut' is constantly leveled at women as an accusation.

"Slut" isn't an accusation at all. It's just the equivalent of "you're an asshole."

billy williams said...

Are you sure he meant it as an insult? And if he did what makes you think he wouldn't use it against a man? In fact, William Gruff didn't say lying female slut, just lying slut so he could be talking about anyone, male or female. Plus, he might mean it just as an insult, not as a way to demonize sex.

He maybe he was just expressing strong disapproval of false rape accusations, which is the moral equivalent of rape.

ungodly infotainer said...

What makes me so sure he wouldnt use it against a man?

The fact that no one ever does. Slut is an insult used on females. So there was no need to say female slut, just as there is no need to say 'male prick'.

Slut can be used against men, So you have no way of knowing if he would use it against men, or if he would have had a man made a false accusation.
