Both members of a Solon couple are facing charges after a woman filed a report saying her boyfriend beat and raped her, only to recant the allegations later, according to Solon Police.
Police say the 31-year-old woman told police on Feb. 2 that her live-in boyfriend, 30, and father of her child had hit and raped her. Officers advised the woman to visit the hospital and see a sexual assault nurse examiner and speak with a victim's advocate through the court system, but the woman refused.
An arrest warrant was issued for the boyfriend as police continued to investigate the case. After the warrant was issued, the woman returned to police station and said she made the allegations up because she was mad at him.
Now both of them face charges. The boyfriend is charged with domestic violence and the woman is charged with falsification. The matter will now be sorted out by the court system.

Wait. What? The boyfriend is charged with what? The recanted allegation of domestic violence? So he has been charged with something she has said did not happen. He is charged with a lie. So she accuses him of domestic violence and he is arrested. She recants and he is charged with the recanted charges. Has he already been convicted here or what. Convicted of being male, maybe.
This report does one thing right. It doesn't report the boyfriend's name or post his picture. Both the accuser and the accused deserve anonymity in these cases until after there is a criminal conviction.

A complaint was made. That means that now its the business of the court. Courts do not simply go " oh, ok - that's cool" once these kinds of thing are set n motion.

Hate to quibble with you Paul but courts don't file charges. Law Enforcement officials do. The same Law Enforcement officials who investigate to see if their is anything to prosecute. The same officials who were told that it was all a lie but charged the boyfriend anyway.
