Wendy Murphy: "Better to protect thousands more children from real abuse than to worry about the occasional adult being burdened by a false accusation"

About a year ago a survey of male victims showed that only two percent were believed if they tried to report to any authority. If it hadn't been for loudmouth feminists like Murphy monopolising the airwaves and the issues on behalf of one sex those Penn State victims may have felt safer trying to do so.

Anything she has to say with regard to victims she has helped marginalise in the past is hubris.

another similar idea: feminism is a form of pedo-criminality, so let's shoot feminazis to protect children from being used for false abuses.

No single person has done more to put innocent people in jail than Wendy Murphy.

She has an uncommon dedication to punish the innocent. It's admirable in a way.

"Some argue that ramping up punishment for non-reporting is dangerous because of the potential for false reports, but this myth-based concern has no basis in reality. In fact, people will likely be more cautious about filing only credible reports when the consequences are more serious."

Unfortunately, exactly the opposite is true. If the consequences for not reporting become more serious, people begin to make more reports. They become afraid of suffering the consequences for failing to report.

There are also consequences for CPS agencies charged with investigating those reports. First and foremost is the excessive drain on resources. Investigating false reports, erroneous reports, and reports that do not constitute actual abuse take time and resources that could be better spent investigating actual abuse cases.

Secondly, investigating false reports can be abusive in and of itself. Frequently, investigations require medical exams for the children who are alleged to be victims. In sexual abuse cases this can include genital exams that can be quite invasive and traumatic for the child. Not to mention the mistrust that can be created and the suspicion cast between the child and the alleged perptrator when a social worker or police officer begins to question the child about the alleged perptrator's actions. Abuse investigations by their very nature can cause harm and should not be conducted without cause.

I've written about this on my own blog:
