QUEBEC CITY - QUEBEC CITY - A New Brunswick woman whom police say falsely claimed that two black men raped her at knifepoint, triggering a major police investigation, was found fit to stand trial Tuesday.
Vanessa Roussel, 21, was charged with criminal mischief after undergoing a psychiatric evaluation. She was freed on $7,000 bail.
Roussel is accused of contacting authorities to say she had been raped in a wooded area in Saint-Michel-de-Bellechasse, near Quebec City, last month. Police uncovered inconsistencies in her story and turned their investigation towards Roussel last week.
If convicted, Roussel faces a maximum sentence of five years in prison.
Her lawyer says she is bipolar, has been seeing a psychiatrist for some time and had talked about suicide.

Probably this woman will escape. Because of feminist law schemes act in favor of her.
Boys don't go around making false rape accusations, because they understand law enforcement will hold them accountable.
Who cares if she is bipolar, suicidal, or depressed?
None of these things are an excuse to lie about being raped...
Another case of a woman saying 'look it's not my fault, I'm actually a victim because of these problems I have, show me some sympathy!'
Imagine a man saying 'I only raped her because I was depressed/bipolar/suicidal'... the judge might even add time to his sentence for being cheeky.

She knew exactly what she was doing and she is not mentally ill.

It’s hard to know it Canadian Courts will be as lenient towards woman who make false rape allegations (a.k.a., a false report to authorities) as U.S. courts tend to be (interestingly, she faces up to 5 years; so they may have stricter laws on the books than in most of the States), but her defense has already laid the ground-work for an insanity-based defense:

It’s a tried and true approach for earning sympathy for (female) perps.
I’ve always felt that if the police would release all the information that they have as to a woman’s motives, and if the press would faithfully report that information, there would be a much clearer picture for the public to consider regarding these cases.
Perhaps she is a bit crazy, and made the claim in order to seek attention. However, if she was either seeking to get victim’s assistance money, or if she did so to try to create an alibi for herself for some other illicit activity, then her false allegation could (and should) be seen as having been quite sane and rational (twisted, to be sure, but never-the-less rational). If she did have a clear objective to either profit financially, or to try to conceal other activities, then there would be strong evidence that any alleged or diagnosed mental disorder was not the root-cause of her choice to make-up a rape lie.
I can see her twinkie defense being a free pass out of this accusation, really sickening.
I regularly donate to the innocence project.
In the latest flyer they mailed out, nearly ALL of the people freed via DNA testing were black.
That combined with this woman lying makes me wonder - how many black men throughout history were wrongfully lynched, imprisoned etc... for the crime of rape.

The men released by DNA through innocence project are mostly cases of Misidentification - NOT lies.
In other words, the women really WERE raped, hence the DNA evidence.
So yes, "racism" is at work here ,but it's "They All Look Alike" and pinned it on the wrong guy stuff- not "She Made It Up".
Big, big difference.
The cases where there is no DNA that are likely as not lies - and you just don't see anybody being freed without DNA to correct those injustices - not even when they recant.
Think of all pork bloated agencies that feed off enabling false rape accusers.
Scarecrow, yes maybe 20 years ago it was mostly black males who were falsely accused and imprisoned for rapes that never happened.
Now its any male, black, white, red, who cannot afford a defense attorney.
