In a 25-page filing asking for the dismissal, prosecutors said that "proof of two critical elements—force and lack of consent—would rest solely on the testimony of the complaining witness at trial." Prosecutors added that the evidence points to a "hurried sexual encounter" between Ms. Diallo and Mr. Strauss-Kahn, but "does not independently establish her claim of a forcible, nonconsensual encounter." The prosecutors added, "If we do not believe her beyond a reasonable doubt, we cannot ask a jury to do so."

Already every possible comment to every similar article is: "he got away, etc...". Followed by much vulgarity, and some pretty illegal stuff like urging people to form revenge gangs to kill him and other accused rapists.
In other words, business as usual.
People accused CANNOT be innocent.
So it turns out that the DNA from FOUR other men was found staining the walls of DSK's hotel room--but not his.
So much for all the pundits and talking heads declaring he had to be guilty.
(This resembles more and more the Duke lacrosse case--a case in which the defendants "just had" to be guilty--no matter what the evidence said...)
If the accuser is not charged for this, then once again it will only demonstrate that there is no downside to making a false accusation.

Vance's duty won't be done unless there is also a penalty for making false charges (to include repaying his office for all the expenses of the investigation; for her board and room while the city was putting her up; and the like.)
Exactly! This scum needs to spend decades in prison. Otherwise all we end up with is even more scum.
According to CNN, DSK has filed a counter suit against Diallo.
What's disturbing is that the feministing crowd is having a rally in support of getting DSK to trial
feministing is the new Klu-Klux-Klan, they love gang and mob violence. If they could hang this man they would immediately get some dumb-uneducated and ignorant guy to do it for them, while they watch.
They wanted to publicly hang the Duke lacrosse boys.
Why do folks in the white house keep funding these violent / barbaric women??
I have to commend the prosecutor for doing the right thing and asking for the dismissal.
If we could now somehow get him to file charges against Diallo.
