We have toyed with this in the past, and for a time, it appears to help cut down on the extremist who like to post inflammatory statements and things that violate our comment policy. Therefore we have re-instituted FULL comment moderation. We ask for patience in your comments appearing. We will approve (or not) as quickly as we are able.

By the way Steve, When exactly were the Duke lacrosse boys falsely accused of that rape that never happened??
Are you gonna do a special that week to reflect on the inflammatory rhetoric that the American media was spinning, and stuff like that??

That was in March of 2006. So we will likely have something during that time frame.
im just glad posting is back i was dismayed when it stopped although on the day i can understand the decision as a suggestion perhaps i know a few blogger sites where only members can post unmoderated, anyone who isnt has to wait for posts to be checked over an extended period, may be a way of resolving the issue

In the future, if it's workable, perhaps something like a "confirmed poster" status could work well - folks who are regular contributors and who are known not to spew nonsense could be automatically approved, or something like that.
