“A man in Bangladesh is without a penis today after a woman cut off his member and delivered it to a police station as evidence of an alleged attempted rape.
“Mr. Mozammel Haq Mazi, a married father of five, is accused of harassing his neighbor, a married 40-year-old mother of three, for the last six months leading up to the alleged attempted rape.
“The man denies the allegations stating it had been an affair and he was the victim of a revenge attack because he refused to leave his wife. Mr. Mazi is now recovering in hospital and police expect to arrest him once his condition improves.”
So let me get this straight: she performs a violent act, alleges she was raped, and he is going to be the one arrested when his condition improves? I can only determine that a claim of rape trumps cutting off a man's penis. I guess I don't fully “get” that an admitted act of assault means nothing compared to an unproven claim of rape.
I can only agree with Angry Harry on this one:
I don't know who you are, Sir, but I can tell you what you are worth. If your partner was to cut off your penis tonight, the world would laugh.
What a Piece of Sh*t is Man

--- I understood the piece that he admitted to an affair and not an assault. (?)
Culturally, it may or not be true that in some foreign societies they are considered one and the same.
Somewhat OT;
I read a couple months ago, that in Israel it is legally impossible for a woman to commit rape and that law applies to alleged acts against other adults and even to children. Go figure.
Atlas
If only they were -just- laughing. Take a look at this Facebook thread where a few hundred women, all identified by name, cheer for castrations and openly celebrate sexual violence against males: http://www.facebook.com/CBSNews/posts/148819765191369
That is hilarious, not only cut off his penis but then, then, wait for it:
He goes to jail.
Oh my that is so funny.
Good thing the judges are more impartial than I am and will surely not jail the man and will punish the woman.
What's that you say?
The judges, courts and law are not impartial?
Well now that is NOT funny at all.
Atlas,
I was alluding to the fact that she isn't going to be punished for a proven assault, but he will for the unproven claim of rape.
Sorry if that wasn't clear.

The female sentencing discount in action.
That's not a mere proven assault, it's a proven sexual assault, for which the punishment is severe. Even if you can't go for that, it surely meets any state's definition of aggravated battery.
Randian,
To be fair, this happened in Bangladesh, so I have no idea what laws are on the books, but you would think that sexual assault at the very minimum. I would include attempted murder as well.
When I saw all of those Facebook comments, all I could think of was "When you listen to fools, the mob rules!". According to quite a few people on there, it's perfectly acceptable to cut off an alleged rapist's penis. They weren't there, so how do they know who is telling the truth here?
It's infuriating, isn't it?
