Union buses in maids to taunt presumptively innocent man

A throng of angry hotel workers, many in their uniforms, were bused in by The New York Hotel and Motel Trades Council, to taunt and humiliate presumptively innocent Dominique Strauss-Kahn by chanting “shame on you” as Mr. Strauss-Kahn made a court appearance on Monday.

Let's get one thing straight: it's good if the union makes sure the accuser isn't fired for reporting an alleged crime. It's good if the union is concerned about the safety of its members who might be assaulted by guests.

But busing in union members to harrass and taunt a presumptively innocent man is despicable.  And why? Because he's "powerful" and "privileged"?

So were the Duke lacrosse boys, remember?

Here's how "powerful" and "privileged" Mr. Strauss-Kahn is: his life has been effectively destroyed forever based on nothing more than an accusation of a maid whose identity is shrouded in secrecy.

So who's the "powerful" one in this situation?

Reports are that Mr. Strauss-Kahn will claim in court that a hotel chambermaid he is accused of trying to rape agreed to sex then tried to blackmail him.  If that's the case, then the accuser just made jackasses out of the union members who taunted a man who might just be innocent.

And by the way, the housekeeper has lawyers, too -- why, we don't know -- but they told reporters the defense is trying to smear her good name.

The only problem with that is, her "good name" is pretty much intact.  His has been destroyed forever.

Those shaming maids, some of whom are mostly likely illegal aliens, have just taken hospitality to a whole new level.

It's pathetically sad how quickly and far the past 40 years this country has gone downhill with disregarding individual rights, liberties, and protections.

As pointed out in the piece, it is indeed incredible how politically and personally DSK has been brought down to his knees based on nothing more than as yet an accusation.

They "have just taken hospitality to a whole new level."

Amen, Atlas!

I don't prejudge this case, and I am sure it's prudent for maids to take precautions against the guests. But as a male who frequently stays at hotels, I must admit I feel more vulnerable than
I used to. I would not want to be in the same room for even one second alone with a woman from the housekeeping staff. I've read too many stories about what can happen to innocent men.

Free dominique strauss immediately you f@@kin pigs. The old man didn't rape anybody.

At least this dominique false rape case will show the world how "perverted" American law enforcement has decayed into.

Pierce,

A little self-defense and first-aid can go a long way to keeping us safe. It is good that you feel somewhat more vulnerable and are taking precautions. Sadly, we now all need to keep our guard up whether as a hotel guest or even as husbands.

I have many years of experience in the corporate war zones seeing the Medussa face of modern women in the trenches.

It can't hurt, whenever possible, to construct your work-life to have multiple layers of defense.

Next time I am staying at hotel, I'm going to post a sign on my door:
"No maid service for as long as I'm staying here. No means no. Now go away from my door until after I check out of this hotel".

Keep in mind that if DSK turns out to be innocent, this is not a man to be crossed lightly.

If it turns out he is innocent, I expect, and dearly hope, that he will take the people making these accusations down, hard and fast.

If guilty, well, that's why we should wait for results, unlike those idiot maids.

Even if he did it, we know damned well that next week we'll be reading about a guy who didn't. In fact, wasn't there already another accusation made against an Egyptian banker -- one far less credible than the one against Strauss-Kahn?

The difference is that if she's lying, she'll still get a free pass, no matter how much evidence is accumulated against her. But the man could go to prison forever. Is that fair?

Whenever I check in to a hotel, the first thing I do is put out the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door. Keeps away a multitude of evil.

There was no way that hotel maid would enter a 3000 dollar a night suite, and not notice there was someone inside, and quietly back out of the room.
I would like to know if the prosecutor that is handling the Strauss case has a "Sexual politik" against hetero-males, and if he does, he needs to be relieved from the case.
Anyone with a "Sexual Politik", any one from the group of "Gender-feminism" that would serve to gain "Empowerment" from yet another innocent man in jail, has a "conflict of interest" and should be removed from rape and domestic violence cases.
The prime example of the "Sexual politik" and the inherent "conflict of interest" when gender-feminists try these cases, are the "Mary Kellets" of the North Eastern states.
Get the perversion out of American law enforcement, and Americas judicial system. If some groups (gender-feminist groups) can "Empower" themselves with putting innocent men and boys in jail, that group has a "conflict of interest" and should be removed from cases that could "Empower" their group.

No, of course not. But with a man of his power, one can hope that he will be able to ruin the false accuser and her enablers.

Anon 9:42PM,

We do not know yet if it is another false-rape case or an actual rape that occurred. If American LE claimed DSK is innocent would you then state he is guilty?

I wonder how the hotel's corporate bookings ledger is looking...

That's what he should have done. Getting frisky with the hotel staff-- consentual or otherwise -- is an extremely bad move.

Scot says, its quite simple here, get the perversion out of American law enforcement, and free the innocent, and prosecute the offenders. Its that simple!!
But you see, a perversion has entered into American courts. The perversion is that "gender-feminists" gain "Empowerment" off every single innocent man or boy they get to plead guilty to a lessor charge to something they didn't do.
So when the "Mary Kellets" of the gender-raunch establishment of the North east are prosecuting cases that could "Empower" them (false rape cases, false domestic violence cases, ect, ect,) gender-feminists should be removed from these type of cases, because their is a basic conflict of interest.
