19 Years Ago Today: An Act of Penile Mutilation Turns A Woman Into a National Heroine
Nineteen years ago today, Lorena Bobbitt sliced off her husband's dick, an act that would turn her into a folk hero for American women. The repulsive tale is told in its entirety here -- "Lorena Bobbitt and the Politics of Hate." I promise it will get your blood boiling.

My blood's been boiling about this kind of thing since this case... it took this to open my eyes!
Yeah, it always bothered me how much respect she gotten for mutilating another human being. She's no heroine.
We must never be allowed to forget this case and other important ones (like the Duke False Rape Hoax and now the Thomas Ball case). These stories are clear and troubling indicators that something is very, very wrong with our society. I applaud FRS for doing their part.
Guys,
Never forget that women nationwide CHEERED for Lorena Bobbitt and her heinous deed; they cheered! That's also indicative of women's feelings towards men; never forget that, either...

This is a well written article that really describes the situation well, as I remembered back when it happened.
This kind of thing though, is hard-wired into humans. In Belfort Bax's "Fraud of Feminism" you will find examples from more than a century ago of women who, after being jilted by a lover/fiance, would by the acid "vitriol" at the local general store and fling it in the man's face, scarring him for life - and the women were rarely punished.
I personally discovered how much disdain society has for male sexuality when I began suffering from a genito-urinary cancer a few years ago.
First, I was completely ignored by doctor after doctor, misdiagnosed, and patted on the head, then sent away. After a few doctors doing this, I started getting more and more insistent that I wanted a biopsy, and was turned down angrily by doctors, stating they would not waste resources on someone like me, because they had "real people" who had cancer.
This prompted me to start writing to the minister of health (in Canada), asking for help and getting continually ignored. Finally, I wrote back and said, "Look, if you keep ignoring me I will show up at Parliament with a big fricken' sign that says 'Penis', painted red from head to toe, with an airhorn in my hand and a cow-bell around my neck! If you keep ignoring me I WILL get on the national news every time you walk in or out of that place!" Well, he paid attention after that - and sent and RCMP Officer to my house for "threatening him."
Eventually I did get my biopsy, and sure enough, I did have cancer. Luckily, I had caught it early - only level one, but, my first oncologist tried to "trick me" by telling me of some "new" treatment and referred me on... to some quack who wanted to use lasers to start hacking my genitals to bits and then said "if that doesn't work, then we'll just lop off part of your dick" as he made a siccors with fingers and chopped them on my penis. I was outraged, as I had already researched treatments and this was the most drastic measure and usually only done when cancer progressed to level two or three. "I haven't even tried other treatments!" I exclaimed, and the doctor berated me for being so foolish for not seeking care sooner, as all men do. (Remember, I DID seek treatment, but go ignored repeatedly).
When I got back to my first oncologist, he said that he was concerned about "time." I asked whose time? Mine or his? I found a study showing that 90% of men who have their penises mutilated never fully re-integrate into society and 42% ended their lives with suicide. I think I want to try other treatments, assholes!
Even the oncologist I got after that, couldn't speak respectfully to me. While I would say proper terms like penis, glans, urethra etc., he kept calling it "my peckker." How professional! Women also get the kind of cancer I had, about three times more than men - and there are eight new photo-dynamic therapy machines in Canada that can be used to treat them, with very little longterm side-effects and takes only about half the time. Of the eight, all have trained techs for women, but not one has a tech for men - men are just not cost-effective, I was told. So, I had to go the way of out-dated chemo and finally it worked.
Anyway, from doctors, to nurses to politicians to police, the attitude was one of disrespect, due it being male sexuality. I didn't tell hardly a soul for fear of further disrespect, as the one girl I was dating, got so furious at me over it, she dumped me for another fella almost immediately, after hurling incredible abuse at me for a few weeks.
I concluded that society as a whole has a hatred for anything to do with male sexuality.
That's also indicative of women's feelings towards men; never forget that, either..
No. Certain women. Mostly feminists and women with chips on their shoulders.
I guarantee that most women do not find her a heroine, especially if they know the whole story.
This is not a woman, not even a human being,it is a human flesh eater.
That's a horrible experience, Anonymous at 9:54:00. I am sorry that you had to go through that. More men like you need to tell their stories about how they have been mistreated, so that people know how widespread misandry is.
If the story at 9:54 seems a bit unbelievable, it might be... but certainly not the part about the incompetence of Canadian doctors, or how terrible the police is here.
Just to give you an idea, the premier of NFLD went to the US for treatment, rather than risk it here :)

There are many others besides Lorena Bobbitt as well. I.E. it was NOT one isolated incident.
I remember one of my friends at the time of Lorena Bobbitt worked in a female-dominated workplace.
The women there (stop reading if you get easily angered or have a weak stomach)...
...the women there had noticed how John's penis was sewed back on. The women there were saying things like - if I did that to my husband, I'll remember to put the penis in a blender, not throw it out the window.
ALL the women he worked with were involved in the conversation and having a good laugh about it.
So, as Marky Mark already pointed out - this is an attitude PREVALENT in the GREATER MAJORITY of WOMEN. PERIOD.
ScareCrow, I was shocked when I went refreshed my recollection about this event by reviewing the news accounts. It really was presented as good versus evil, solely on the basis of gender. What was most curious was how big-time writers, on disputed facts, sided with this woman against this guy who was basically a putz, a loser, a nothing. Wasn't as if he headed the IMF. He was the victim here!
