Off-Topic: Sen. Dianne Feinstein on the death of bin Laden: '. . . we went out of our way in this mission not to hurt children and to the best of our ability not to hurt women'

SEN. DIANNE FEINSTEIN (D), CALIFORNIA: . . . .We're a little different than the terrorists are. I mean we went out of our way in this mission not to hurt children and to the best of our ability not to hurt women.  As a matter of fact, there were 13 children in there and they're all alive and none were wounded. And there was a problem with one or two women, but that was it.  http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2011/05/04/senators_feinstein__hatch_on_bin_laden_109764.html

All of the men killed, except for one, were unarmed.  http://www.slate.com/id/2293111/

Just sayin'.

Looks like details are coming out this was the plan. Even the feminists at Slate seem to think this is disturbing.

And here I just read that they shot one of his sons. Which according to the info I have read on the wife that originally was used as a human shield but now appears to only have been shot in the leg, the boy couldn't have been that old.

Maybe 15 at most...I dunno know. Every single thing I have read about this has been contradictory.

I keep watching the news and Jon Stewart and Colbert and they keep blasting on and on against conspiracy theories but damn.

They seem to be going out of their way to spread mis information, or is it ms. information?

WTF? Can we get the POV recording from the cameras that each seal was wearing? C'mon? Each Seal had a POV camera broadcasting it to the white house live and if you have seen that picture of when it happened taken from the sitroom....well, a pic is worth a thousand words and hillary's expression is interesting to say the least.

A women in the state department just leaked to the press that viagra was given to osama bin laden and his couriers, so they could rape local women, and the US navy intercepted the Empty Viagra bottles, and saved the day for millions of Oppressed women in America.

It is funny how in an age of supposed gender equality, we still have the situation where "women and children" are lumped in together, and implicitly treated as some kind of dependent, helpless, 'other'. It is hard to take gender equality seriously when those who claim to favor gender equality betray a lack of appreciation of what that really entails.

And it is extraordinarily hypocritical for someone like Diane Feinstein to hold such a powerful position (a seat in the US Senate), but then continue to fall back on traditional cultural biases in favor of protecting the little woman along with the children. Talk about having your chivalrous protection and eating it alive too.

Bin Laden was a horrible person, and his death is a huge gain for world peace.

But yes, the circumstances of his execution were far from ideal, and Feinstein's moronic remarks to the contrary speak volumes about her lack of credibility.

And I found it disturbingly unsurprising that the initial reports describing a Hollywood-style showdown between the Seals and terrorists turned out to be an utter fabrication, including the nifongesque touch about a woman being used as a human shield.

Lying about such matters has become second nature in American society.

So true.

As a person falsely accused - I have yet to see evidence "beyond reasonable doubt" that Bin laden was responsible for that which he was accused of.

There has been PLENTY of time for a trial in absentia to prove he was guilty.

I guess I am no longer a "good" democrat. I just don't believe the word of those who lie to us so freely otherwise.

Breaking news, American law enforcement have intercepted a large shipment of viagra; that according to an un-named women in the state department, was headed for usoma bin ladens compound to be used to rape women.
The UN has denied these suspicious US claims, and view it as "inflammation of the hystera", and counter-productive in responsible international affairs.

Anon,

I hesitated to publish your comment.

I'm going to ask anyone reading this, if you are going to make statements of fact, please put a link with your statement that at least backs it up please.

Anonymous 7:46pm seems to be conflating, either mistakenly or intentionally, Pakistan and Libya:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/42824884/ns/world_news-mideastn_africa/

The claim was that Viagra was fueling rapes in Libya. I don't have to tell readers of this blog that the claim has been shown to have no basis in fact or reality

The rescue of Jessica Lynch comes to mind.

The fragging of Pat Tillman.

Waco and the ATF. Ruby Ridge.

Landing on the moon.

Gee...how SILLY and paranoid of me to not believe the Mission Acomplished America Is #1 Again story.

I think that 7:46 was being sarcastic.

Regarding the claim that maybe Bin Laden was innocent: ARE YOU FUCKING NUTS? He boasted repeatedly about killing 3000 Americans! Sheesh.

You really going to conflate landing on the moon with WACO. The moon landing conspiracy has absolutely nothing to stand on.

I get so tired of those kinds of comments, like when the media says "including women" when reporting on casualties. I don't question the split second decisions of our commandos but with Feinstein's statement I do question our government's pre-imposed gender-based policy of killing only males. That's exactly what it looks like, especially when combined with what I'm reading about a woman who charged at the commandos only getting shot in the leg while men who did not charge get killed. I wouldn't be surprised if it was imposed on the SEALS by Hillary Clinton types on the security team. And that's not to get political b/c I think conservatives often do the same. My bet is the whole team endorsed a male disposability directive.
