A WOMAN who falsely claimed she was raped by two teenagers who forced their way into her house has been jailed for 15 months.
Joanne Parker, 30, from Upton Park, reported the men to police after all three had consensual sex at the home she shared with her partner on May 5, 2009, a court heard.
One suspect, then aged 17 and now 19, was arrested and interviewed as a result of Parker’s lies. But the case against him was dropped.
His phone had text messages from Parker, video footage from the night and photos of Parker’s breasts and vagina she had sent to him.
Among messages was one sent on May 1 from Parker offering to instigate sex with Mr Smith and his friend.
Parker later told police she lied to cover up her actions in the fear her partner would find out.
Parker, of Boleyn Road, was jailed at Snaresbrook Crown Court after she admitted perverting the course of justice.
One message sent from Parker to Mr Smith minutes before the alleged rape were “clearly inviting him to the property and offering to wear sexy clothing”.
The pair were in contact via text since at least April 30.
The court heard Parker had an “extremely low IQ”, which led to learning difficulties and short-term memory loss, and she was sexually abused as a child.

and another one bites the dust....
Make up false claims and get some jail time! It should be like that everywhere. Women have more influence sexually then they're given credit for.

True, whenever I see a title like that, I just assume it's about England, before even reading the article.
and even here, women only get jail time when they admit, on tape, that they were telling a pack of lies....
I doubt that is even 1% of those who do tell lies.
Hey, wait a minute, i hear all the time that women are being raped all over the place in America, and would never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, lie about something like that.????
AfOR - ” and even here, women only get jail time when they admit, on tape, that they were telling a pack of lies…”
One thing that should probably be reiterated from time to time (seeing as how there are many people new to this site), is that normal, long-standing accepted legal precedents that stand as protections against wrongful convictions ARE NOT suspended when woman are accused of crimes. No woman who’s suspected of making a false rape claim is going to be convicted without PROOF that she knowingly committed the crime.
Recently, someone else posted a comment suggestive that the stance of the FRS was that any woman’s who’s claim of being raped did not end in a successful conviction of the man she accused should then be thrown, forthwith, into prison herself.
Not only has such a radical notion NEVER been supported here, but it simply could not happen, as that women would be afforded the due process of law (unlike what many men accused of rape encounter, as their legal rights are largely ignored). If the police and prosecutors do not have a case which can withstand the muster of a trial, demonstrating that she committed the act, beyond what would be any reasonable doubt, the woman who has made an allegation will not be convicted of having made it falsely.
And, just to be sure there is no misunderstanding here, I seriously doubt that any regulars here would even support the idea of a woman being automatically charged simply because here claim cannot be substantiated – only that she should be subject to being investigated herself.
AfOR is entirely correct in noting that, even though there are growing numbers of women (in the UK) being convicted and jailed after making false rape allegations, in every single instance, they were only convicted based on over-whelming evidence against them – evidence that the crime they alleged did not occur, generally accompanied by their recantation and confession that they had lied.
And, regulars of the FRS have never suggested that women should ever be convicted on anything less that such a high standard of proof.
What we have called for is that in order to get a conviction men who are accused a similar high standard of proof also needs to be met.
@ slwerner
quite right, well, nearly, while it is a fact that in the UK a woman will only ever be charged with perverting the course of justice upon a verbal and / or written admission to the Police that the rape accusation was false and malicious, this is NOT a level playing field with men accused of rape, who are routinely charged, and some 55% are convicted upon trial.
the conviction rate for women charged with perverting the course of justice form making false rape accusations is >99%, albeit the sentencing varies wildly, and *many* are dismissed with a simple police caution, which is a conviction minus sentence.
while I do not propose that ALL rape accusations that fail to culminate in a conviction should be charged with perverting the course of justice, nevertheless I hold the opinion that 99% of rape accusations are false.***
HOWEVER, here we are talking about CRIMINAL cases, if we expand the remit to CIVIL cases involving divorce and children, where there is no burden of proof and no criminal process whatsoever, particularly under the new 2011 rules where a woman has to make an accusation of DV or sexual abuse to get Legal Aid, then IMHO claiming that 99% of accusations are false is an under-estimate, a solid 100% are false, for if they were true there would indeed be a criminal action.
Women know ALL about this disparity, where men (and children) who would never in a million years face criminal action, nevertheless are treated as though they were guilty, punished as a result, with the terminal destruction of families, while the Courts, Lawyers, DV/Rape services, Social services, Mental health professionals and all make an extremely good living on the carnage that ensures.
Follow the fucking money.
*** unless we re-define rape to mean morning after regrets.
15 months is nothing. Just compare that to the time that her victims would have gotten if she had done a more competent job of falsely accusing them.
Our system is a misandrist's wet dream!
@AofR Could you post a source for that conviction rate? The number I've seen thrown around is a 30-40% conviction rate. Albeit, when I have tried to shortly research the conviction rate, I have been unable to find research that is not behind a paywall.
While I do agree that a great deal of rape accusations likely accrue from women who regret sex the next day, saying you believe that is the case 99% of the time does not reflect well on your position.
While we can all read stories, read the psych papers, research the stats, and so on, it's tough to know the truth beyond all the b.s. On those grounds alone, we can argue for the reforms to law that we believe are needed: anonymity, repeal of shield laws, and a more definitive legal definition of sexual assault.
That said, it would be a shame for us to sink to the lows of the feminist movement by letting the hurt that has been done to ourselves or someone we know bias our view on reality. It would take away from our own credibility and it would disguise what I believe to be the underlying principle/ethic of our movement: that someone ought to be innocent until proven guilty. And that such cases ought to be decided on the basis that the evidence of crime is beyond reasonable doubt. The innocence project shows that sexual assault is one of many crimes that has not fallen in line with this underlying ethic. I believe that is why a great many of us our on strong grounds to speak out for reform. The truth is that even if false accusations made up just 2% of accusations (and yes, I know this number is a made-up number and the reality is somewhere between 8 and 60 percent), we would still be on grounds to fight for reform.
It really goes back to a classic question posed in Dostoevsky's epic "Brothers Karamozov." If the good of society had to be founded on the death and pain of one innocent child, would the ends justify the means? The quote from the President of Vassar shows that some people believe so. This belief is, however, contrary to the founding principles of our legal system which I believe most people do believe in: the ends do not justify the means.
@slwerner: I agree. That being said, I understand where many comments are coming from. The disparity between what happens to those falsely convicted of sexual assault (Megan's list, no job for life, scarlet letter) and those convicted of perverting the course of justice (few months in prison) is alarming. Being falsely accused of rape is akin to being raped. The punishment for someone who makes a false accusation ought to be proportional to the punishment of someone falsely accused.
You are right, however, that the same burden of evidence ought to be upheld. It's in no person's interest in this country for there to be a "guilty 'till proven innocent" standard, not for any crime.
Freedom: very well said.
And in spite of being the victim of a false rape accusation whose accuser got a very mild sentence (hardly anything), I agree that not even false rape accusers should be deprived of the right to a fair trial.
We are on the side of human freedom; the feminists and other authoritarians are not.
By the way, comments like Freedom's are the reason why I hope that this blog never eliminates comments. The administrators here should not allow feminist trolls to come in here and assassinate their character, but I feel that it is important for us to have an ongoing dialogue, including with some of the angriest, "out there" MRAs. We need to establish firmly that violence is not the solution to these problems.
I am not advocating anything other than fair trials for False Rape Accusers.
I only wish those accused of rape were treated nearly so fairly in CRIMINAL court, and even remotely as fairly in FAMILY court.
The fact that I hold a personal opinion that 99% of rape allegations are false does not mean that I wish those accusers to be subject to star chamber or vigilante justice.
WHAT BOILS MY PISS is the fact that they get a free fucking pass, not even a proper criminal investigation, unless they are dumb enough to *admit* to making an FRA, and even when dragged into court, still get a pussy pass.
They get a free pass even when they do admit having made it all up, and even when they've already done it many times before! The system is rotten to the core.
OT- This was amusing: http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/41672905/ns/today-entertainment/
The body of a newborn baby was discovered in a bag belonging to a student at the already scandal-plagued Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls in Johannesburg, according to South African authorities.
These media stories so often end with a media apology or an excuse of sorts for the women who make false-rape claims.
