Plattsburgh State student files false sexual assault report

PLATTSBURGH — A student from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh is facing criminal charges for falsely reporting a sexual assault.

hey wait a minute here...i hear all the time that women and girls would Never, ever, ever, ever, ever, lie about rape.
I also hear that rape is the most under-reported crime in the world, because women would rather die than say that someone raped her.
Feminists say women would rather die than say someone raped her, yet this college girl made the accusation with disturbing Ease.
When state and federally funded organisations say that women never, ever, ever, ever, lie about rape; when in fact they do lie about rape, (and now maybe more so than ever in American history)...DOES THIS MISINFORMATION BUILD A PREJUDICE AGAINST AN INNOCENT COLLEGE GUY WHO IS IN THE MIDDLE OF A FALSE RAPE NIGHTMARE, THAT JUST WONT GO AWAY??

So let me get this straight.... this individual pinned you up against a tree, grabbed your crotch, and then ate your term paper? Uh-huh. Uh-huh....

Thanks for the humorous, yet (IMHO) dead-on assessment.

Having some “insider: knowledge of the deferential treatment given to college students who report being victims of crimes, I’ve come to be very suspicious of the motivations behind the apparent “spike” in college-related FRA’s between mid-October and mid-December.

"According to University Police, the female student recanted her accusation that on Dec. 8..."

I tried searching the site for related stories, looking for the original news account, but found no published mention of any sexual assaults on or around the date of Dec. 8.

It's hard to tell, but this might well be a case in which the police were immediately suspicious, and chose to investigate first. before causing any "public panic" over the womans claim.

This would seem rare, indeed, but perhaps a hopeful sign that LE is starting to be more aware of the prevalence of FRA's.

That's just crazy both ways. If women aren't punished for false rape claims, then they can accuse anyone just because they are angry at them; yet if they want to recant, and prevent the charges from going further, they will be punished for recanting. So, they are pretty much forced to go through with it. And even if she does recant, the man will most likely stay on the "sexual predator list". It's a strange world we live in now. Everyone is afraid of their neighbor.

Who's job is it to protect the innocent in America from false rape accusations??? Who's job is it to protect the sanctity of a rape accusation, by making sure there are not so many false rape accusations to the degree it "trivializes" the real ones??
Is it the guy running the convenience store on the corners job??
Is it yer local shoe salesman's job???

And what about January to June?
