There should be a national DataBase of DNA kept. All males reaching the age of say 18, should as a matter of course supply a DNA sample. Those that say its goes against civils liberties should get real and take their heads out of their bottoms. If you have nothing to hide why hide it in the first instance. Cost, and logistics would no doubt deny it from happening, but one day it will happen - Selwyn Edwards, Wrexham, North Wales, 9/1/2011 10:12
"Not even the most brutal of all dictatorships has ever thought of this"
That's only because the technology was not available for past brutal dictatorships to employ.
Right now, national registering of computer identity for sex offenders only is underway.
Terrorists, those who plot murder or 9/11 conspiracies are perfectly free to continue to do so - only SEX OFFENDERS are considered so dangerous to society they have their free speech rights curtailed.
Why little 12 year old Susie or Young Jimmy are trolling for sexual partners on the internet is not a matter worthy of discussion.
Every civilized society must strive to (1) eradicate heinous crimes by punishing the offenders, and (2) insure that the innocent aren't punished along with the offenders. Too often, the second half of that balance is omitted from the public discourse. Accusations of serious criminality, especially murder and sexual wrongdoing, too often are their own convictions in the high court of public opinion because the stigma is so severe. It is our mission to raise awareness about the injustices suffered by persons wrongly accused of serious criminality. Protecting the innocent from unjust harm as a result of a wrongful accusation is a hallmark of a civilized society.

Rape is a funny word and a funny crime. Women's hypocrisy made it so.
