SDSU student admits making up report of sexual assaul

A report of a sexual assault last week on the South Dakota State University campus in Brookings has been dismissed as false.

University officials this morning notified students and employees that the University Police Department has closed its investigation into the report that was made last Thursday, Dec. 2, according to a news release.

The student who filed the initial report told a university police investigator Monday that the alleged confrontation and physical contact did not occur.

A campus-wide electronic notice this morning reminded students and employees to continue practicing routine personal safety precautions, even in light of an unfounded report.

She should be expelled. She won't. But she should be.

Here's a good one.

TV weather girl arrested for 'falsely claiming she was raped while jogging in Central Park'

"Miss Jones allegedly said she concocted the tale in a plea for sympathy to counter some unknown setback that she was experiencing in her personal life."

Wow, what a great reason to potentially destroy somebody else's life.

Hum? Another college coed making a stranger rape claim just before term project due-dates and approaching finals.

Gee, I just can't imagine what motivation she might have? [/snark]
