Ashland, Ore.--The victim of a reported sexual assault Friday morning on the SOU campus has changed important details of the crime.
The woman originally reported two unknown men attacked her outside near the admissions office. She now says the assault took place inside a dorm and the perpetrators were known.
Police say it is not uncommon to receive false information in such cases and the victim will not be charged for giving a false statement.
[FRS Comment] - Ok, if it is only reported, then she isn't a "victim" of anything at this point. She is just a complainant. By labeling her a "victim", then that presupposes that she was indeed sexually assaulted, and automatically presumes that someone is guilty of sexual assault. Considering that her story has now changed (and how many times do we see that in a false allegation?), calling this individual a "victim", is convicting someone without a trial.

It is hard to be sure how many of these cases where the accuser is referred to as the "victim" are part of a deliberate attempt to taint all accused as guilty (some undoubtedly are, but not all). I suspect that in some cases, though, the accuser is referred to as the "victim" simply because it is slightly easier and more elegant than referring to her as the "alleged victim", "accuser", "complainant" etc.
After all, you can't really expect that men's rights, freedoms and lives are really worth the effort involved in wasting that extra breath or tapping a few extra keys on the keyboard.
That's not not changing "details", that's telling two totally different stories.
Perpetual hysteria "Empowers" the status quo. If one was to track the anti (heterosexual)male faulty and inflammatory agitation propaganda to see where it is emanating from, one would find that around 95% is coming from the Gender / Raunch community; Because they gain "Empowerment" from it.
They have convinced society that their "homosexual sexual oppression" is of much more societal urgency and concern that the perpetual American matriarchal underclass. If one was to go into a ???womens rights class??? it now looks more like a sexual preferences rally than anything to do with any sense of womens equality.

Nick,
I would agree, to a point. Print space is likely a consideration, but the fact that this happens in the majority of the articles we post here, I can't see that as coincidence. Maybe intentional blindness is a better way to put it.
