Donna Robinson admits making up rape claim in Southampton

A TAXI driver was locked up for almost a day and had his licence suspended for several weeks after an alcoholic drug abuser claimed he had raped her.

Donna Robinson launched a major police investigation after saying she had been attacked outside a Southampton bar. In reality, she had consensual sex with the cabbie.

The 27-year-old had rowed with her boyfriend and stormed off from a party after having taken a cocktail of alcohol, cocaine, cannabis and heroin.

Hours later, she gave police what prosecutor David Jenkins described as “a compelling account” of how she had been sitting outside The Edge nightclub when she was approached by two men, one of whom tried to kiss her. Despite putting up a struggle, she was dragged away, her jeans and underwear were removed and she was raped.

Robinson took police to the scene and described her ordeal.

"When a police officer arrested Robinson, she snapped: “No wonder women don’t report it.”

Sound familiar?

Now, is she parroting the Police, who excuse not charging false rape accusers with this refrain, or are the Police, not charging false rape accusers, excusing it with the refrain from "wimminz"?

Still, one more lying bitch gets jail time so it is another brick in the wall for everyone else... hooray.

To be fair, this “refrain” is hardly unique to police. It comes originally from those in the Sexual Grievance Industry, and it is the SGI who remain mostly likely to state it (most press accounts in which we see it, we see it coming from one of their members contacted to lend their “balance” to the press having to cover the reality that yet another women has lied about having been raped).

Still, the very fact that she, after having already been proven to be a liar, tells us a great deal about how the notion has been drummed into the heads of women.

And, her use of that “refrain” should be looked at in then light of the other facts, such as that fact that the police launched a major investigation based solely on her claim, and arrested the man she had had consensual sex with, yet named as her attacker. These things CLEARLY indicate that her claim was taken in full faith, and acted upon seriously.

So, when, after a thorough and lengthy investigation which determined that she’d been lying all along, she still has the gall to try to “shame” the police, is an act which we ought to be able to throw back in the face of anyone who will make the unsubstantiated claim that charging women will deter real victims. Ironically, the only thing her statement actually suggests is that false accusers might be deterred if they knew that they might be charged.

She, like most of the gender-feminist in the SGI, would prefer that a woman’s word be taken as the “final and ultimate” word, and that no further investigation need be done – just arrest and imprison whom ever they finger, for what ever reason the y chose to do so. Investigating rape allegations has the unfortunate (in the eyes of the SGI) tendency to uncover many “incontinent truths” about women, and the veracity of their stories.

Switching gears, this stories also serves to highlight a couple of the general warning to (young) men to help steer them away from trouble. Never have sex with an intoxicated women, and never have sex with one who has a husband or boyfriend (especially one who had a fight with that partner). This story shows that no women, even a drug addict, is above having regrets or wishing to have an alibi. Don’t allow yourself to be in the position of being either.

I agree with everything you wrote except the last paragraph. Imho, while it might lessen a person's chance of false accusation, so would not having anything at all to do with women, or never leaving the house for that matter. Most murders are perpetrated by someone known to the victim, so try not to know anyone? The thing here is there are plenty of FRA where there was no sex, and even no contact. It's also quite plausible that a woman who is willing to lie about being raped, is the same woman who is willing to lie about being single, and who knows what else.

Fair enough, I should have better delineated those remarks with "known to be' qualifier.

But, I believe the basic advice holds, extremism not withstanding. If you know (or suspect) a woman is intoxicated, consider that she may well regret almost anything she choose to do while in that state. And, if you know a woman isn’t single, beware. Look at how many of the stories in the archive are women making FRA’s as alibis for their illicit activities, and at how many have thrown their lovers (meaning the guy they’d had a longer-term affair with, not just one-night stands) “under the bus” in an attempt to salvage their reputations.

It’s not about steering clear of women entirely, but about recognizing situations which have a heightened risk of her choosing to recast any consensual activity as rape.

The main reason why the police usually don't charge false accusers is simply that it is not PC. For the most part, the police focus their time and resources on matters that are beneficial to those in power (such as raising revenue from motorists) or matters that genuine good public relations and media (like busting some drug warehouse or solving a particularly grisly crime that has attracted a lot of attention and public angst).

There is no mileage in pursuing false accusers because it is of no benefit to those in power, nor does it generate much good PR because it is not seen by most people as a major 'law-and-order' issue. I don't know of any police department in the world that has targets for charging a certain number of false accusers, but plenty of police departments have targets to meet for fines and convictions in many other areas.

Ultimately, the police are not there to protect the community or help facilitate justice. They are there to carry out the wishes of those in power, and act as a front line in social control. If you have a problem, you are better off finding a good lawyer than going to the cops.
