Charges for false rape report

A 21-year-old Melbourne woman who claimed she was raped on a beachside track in broad daylight will be charged with making a false report to police.

The woman told police she was jogging on a dirt track beside The Esplanade in Mount Martha, south of Melbourne, when she was attacked just after 5.30pm (AEST) on September 13.

Police on Tuesday said detectives had completed their investigation and were now satisfied no such event happened.

"Police wish to allay community fears and reinforce the fact that this incident did not occur and there is no one sought in relation to the matter," a police spokeswoman said.

"The 21-year-old woman is expected to be charged on summons with making a false report to police."

The woman had told police she was startled by a man standing on the dirt track exposing himself.

She said the man tackled her to the ground, removed her pants and then sexually assaulted her on the track.

She told police the attack only stopped when she bit him on the neck. She then fled to a nearby house to raise the alarm.

Hey wait a minute, I'm told sternly and adamantly that women and girls would NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER lie about something so serious as rape.
If society is told by state and federally funded organizations that women and girls never lie about rape, and now lying about rape is the norm, then isn't the state and federally funded misinformation that "women and girls never lie about rape amount to prejudicing a jury.

The endangered male teacher

'A new study says male elementary teachers live in a steady state of anxiety, with 13 per cent reporting they had been wrongly accused of inappropriate contact with students. Part 2 of a six-part series.

The male elementary teacher is the spotted owl of the education system, the leatherback turtle, the Beluga.

His presence is so endangered that in many public schools his numbers can be counted on a single hand. In some schools, it requires no hands at all.

“It is now possible for a child in Canada to go through elementary school and high school and never see a male at the front of the class,” says Jon Bradley, an associate professor of education at McGill University, where men make up just five per cent of the elementary teachers in training.'

Rape Culture: Female Scam, Male Nightmare

'Rape culture is a term used within women's studies and feminism, describing a culture in which rape and other sexual violence against women is common and in which prevalent attitudes, norms, practices, and media condone, normalize, excuse, or encourage sexualized violence.

That is just one of the definitions for rape culture I found online. It is as good a definition as any for something that does not, and never has, existed. And it has been taking its rightful place alongside a nonexistent gender wage gap, nonexistent employment discrimination, nonexistent media bias and a nonexistent domestic violence crisis that only affects women, continuing the litany of nonexistent feminist outrages.

This collection of imagined slights and hurts form the basis of Lie Culture. And it is nothing new. We have been lying to women since the first one asked, “Does this mastodon hide make my ass look fat?” Rather we have been lying to women since the first one started crying and getting cold in the bedroom when being told the truth. And that trump card, issued in the name of survival biology, has long ensured that for the most part, women will not be inconvenienced with reality. And nor will men who want to remain on their “good” side.'

"Police wish to allay community fears . . . ."

If they want to allay community fears, they need to find a way to end false rape claims. One-half of the community, and the women who love them, should be in fear about them. Somehow the police never think of these claims as scary until they are the victims of such a claim.

Bronx man who spent more than 20 years behind bars for a rape he didn't commit was awarded $18.6 million yesterday by a Manhattan federal jury.

"I am elated, but it really hasn't kicked in yet," said Alan Newton as he enjoyed a celebratory dinner at P.J. Clarke's last night with his lawyer, John Chutty III.

"I'm just feeling numb right now," he said.

Newton was convicted in 1985 but never gave up on proving his innocence.

In 1994 he made his first request to test the victim's rape kit, but the NYPD couldn't find it.

It wasn't until 2005 that officials located the evidence. They tested it the following year and it proved Newton never committed the heinous crime.

Kendall Rodriguez.
Alan Newton He filed suit in 2007 and after years of legal wrangling with the city, Newton's lawsuit was allowed to go forward, culminating in yesterday's blockbuster verdict.

"When the exoneration came, I felt a sense of justice; this is the next level," said Newton, who now works for CUNY and has said he'll use part of the money to pay for law school.

"I want to help people that are in need in the justice system," he said.

A spokeswoman for the City Law Department said: "We are disappointed with the verdict, and plan to appeal."

It does seem like a rather common occurrence.
