A woman who lied about being raped to "teach a friend a lesson" has been jailed for three years.
Leyla Ibrahim, 22, had been in Carlisle city centre on 4 January when a friend refused to lend her money for a taxi home, the city's crown court heard.
She then gave herself a black eye, cut her hair and ripped her clothes to make it look like she had been attacked.
Ibrahim, of Deer Park Road, Stanwix, was found guilty of perverting the course of justice last month.
Scant resourcesJudge Paul Batty said Ibrahim was dishonest from "first to last" as her false claim sparked a £150,000 police investigation and led to the arrest of four innocent men.
The petrol station attendant claimed she was attacked by two youths while walking home.
Photofits were put up and four men were arrested. One man described his ordeal in detention as "torture" while another attempted self harm, the court heard.
But doubts soon emerged about Ibrahim's account when a pair of scissors carrying only fibres of her own clothing were found.
Sentencing Ibrahim, who is seven months' pregnant, Judge Batty, said: "This is a serious offence. It damages the administration of justice in an extremely sensitive area.
"Every false allegation of rape worsens the plight of those women who have been the victim of such a dreadful crime and makes it harder to prove when a crime really has taken place.
"Your behaviour throughout these proceedings has been irresponsible in the extreme and many would say wicked.
"You diverted the scant resources of police who looked for the supposed attackers."
A Cumbria Police spokesman urged genuine victims not to be put off by the case and report attacks.
He said: "It's important that victims who want to report sexual assaults or rapes still come to police.
"We are there, we will support you, we will believe you and at the end of the day we will investigate thoroughly your complaint."

FINALLY. Something approximating justice. I must say I was becoming accustomed to headlines like "Woman makes up story about rape,defendant commits suicide, woman given half-humorous, half-stern talking-to about her zany,almost-lovable mischievousness and sent home with lollipop and warning that NEXT TIME she may be (gasp) sentenced to counseling".
This was a welcome relief. It isn't enough, but it approaches a fitting punishment for this crime.

My false rape accuser got a chunk of "victim funds" that I'm sure she used for drugs. My false rape accuser is actually a serial false rape accuser, as i was the second guy she falselly accused of ???Raping her??? in that same year.

I agree, they should listen to what she has to say, and investigate, but no one, neither the accuser nor the accused, should be automatically believed and supported. Nor should anyone be arrested until that investigation has been completed.

Am I reading this correctly, that she reported the alleged rape after she was charged with killing a man with her car?
And of course, even though her attorney said the man accused of rape was arrested, but there wasn't enough evidence to charge him, she is a "rape victim" not an "alleged victim" or "accuser". Notice how she gets a presumption of innocence, as they don't call her a "murderer".
This is an odd case, a male "victim", but a female false accuser:

Still, as I mused back when the subject was first brought up, it's odd that, given the "Rape Culture" nonsense about women being constantly in peril of being raped anywhere and everywhere they go, that we see far more instance of consensual sex (later claimed to have been rape) caught on video than instance of actual rape?
If there really are some many men lurking about, just looking for opportunities to victimize women, how is it that they manage to be so "lucky" in being caught (on video) so seldom?

True, although it seems there are many more cases of video being evidence of non-rape than rape.
Also, I noticed that Amber Lee story mentions her name even though it calls her "a rape victim".
I went over to tell my neighbors who is a loud mouth B@tch who is always screaming and throwing shit at someone, and she beats her kids, to quiet down, cause next time I'm gonna call the cops.
Well the cops came and drew their guns on me...come to find out after i left, she scratched herself in the chest, and said i hit her. Exactly and the names and identities of both should be kept anonymous. If thet name one, name the other.
The "protocol perversion" of American law enforcement agencies over the last 20 years to no longer charge false rape accusers, has fostered the false rape culture we are now in the middle of.
This is a very serious perversion, which "Empowered" the Rape hsyteria community in the immediatte..but the long term consequences will be to make a mockery of the rape accusation.
