Woman admits making false rape claim

A 23-year-old woman appeared at Oxford Crown Court today charged with perverting the course of justice.

Temitope Adenugba, of Windmill Road, Headington, was charged after she made a false allegation of rape in April last year while living in student halls.

Adenugba admitted the charge at court today, and has been remanded to appear at the crown court for sentencing on July 2.

Det Con Claire Argent said: “We hope this sends out a strong message to anyone who contemplates making false reports of crime.

“By falsely reporting crimes, people are diverting officers from other areas where they are actually needed.”

I am continually impressed with Archivist's fact-finding at pulling up these incidents and continually angered that women, for whatever reason, feel compelled to do this.

Question: is this blog based in England? It seems most of the news articles are based there. I know you have U.S. articles from time to time; just seems overwhelmingly outside the U.S.

Not being nationalistic, just wondering.

Social Worker, we're based in the U.S., but the British press does a better job covering these issues, and the judges are better at punishing them.

Organized feminism has done its job over the last few decades to condition our minds that false rape is non-existent.

This in itself is a major contributor to the behavior.

A false rape accusation by itself should be a felony in all 50 states. I won't give up until it is.

1- What matters is the harm inflicted on innocent men, not that a cop has better things to do

2- Whether or not this is a "strong message" -- or indeed a message at all -- depends on whether or not this criminal is sentenced to real time or giving yet another slap on the wrist.

Doesn't it make you sick when law enforcement pretends that they're the real victims of false accusations? It seems that these biased judges bend over backwards to pretend that men don't even exist.

Ummm it's not exactly as if there's a shortage of such incidents.

just use Google news, type in "false rape" and even despite the refusal to report such incidents by many news organsations you'll still get a decent selection of incidents for that day.

Hey now, Archivist is a genius and I'm basking in his warm glow.

Don't bring down the glow.

I wasn't suggesting he isn't a genius, the popularity of this site proves that. I was merely disagreeing with your reasoning.

Typical and spoken like a true cop. Their job is to arrest criminals and in this case that's exactly what they did, arrested a criminal. So how is that a waste of time?

You see, in my opinion we have given our employees, the cops, too much authority to make arrests and none of them even understand what probable cause is. The criminal in this case(the female making the false report) recanted her story and confessed it was a lie so of course the cops can arrest her. She confessed! But in other cases where a female makes an allegation and the man tells the cops he's either innocent or in many cases doesn't even know the female, no arrest should ever be made. In these cases of alleged rape, DV, child molestation, stalking and all the other bogus nonsense that goes on today it should first be up to the cops to collect enough physical evidence, eye witnesses etc before even considering making an arrest and even then no bail should be required after booking the man.I'd also make it a requirement that a lawyer must be present to represent a person who is arrested or even someone who is just asked to come in and "answer a few questions". Better yet, never speak to the police under any circumstances.

Pierce, the Baltimore Sun is back to its calling accusers victims. Can I write to them for you to chide them?

Archivist said...

Jason, knock yourself out. Use my name if you want, I don't care. I give up on Baltimore. I can't tell what's going on there, and the police force obviously is going to do what it has to do to keep out of the news. I've done all I can do with Baltimore.

I think police make these statements as a way to signal to the sexual grievance industry that it shouldn't complain about law enforcement performance when it comes to rape. They're saying, "Hey, look at the climate we're working in -- all these women lying, and we're spending so much effort on fake rape cases . . . ." I believe these police statements are a direct answer to feminists' whining about rape.

Did you notice what their motto is? "Light for everyone."

What a crock of shit. "Light for women and darkness for innocent men" is more like it. What a cesspool of pro-liar bigots.

More detail emerging on the case today.

she made the false rape allegation to get a deadline extension for her coursework. Oh, and she's a serial false accuser too!

She got 18 months btw - abysmal, but I don't ever recall anyone serving more than a year for ruining a man's life in this way (i.e. a "two" year sentence)

An Oxford Brookes student who lied about being raped to get a deadline extended has been sentenced to 18 months in prison.

Temitopay Adenugba, 24, of John Gain Way, Headington, claimed she had been attacked by a cleaner in her halls of residence in May 2009.

Adenugba admitted perverting the course of justice at an earlier hearing.

Her defence team told Oxford Crown Court she had made the claims when feeling anxious about her coursework.

A false rape accuser is getting a whole 18 months in prison? Oh my goddess, what is the world coming to?
