I want to be certain I have this right: disorderly conduct, for falsely reporting being sexually assaulted. Gee, the same charge as the drunk guy singing loudly in the street at 2 a.m. I'm glad that Hinsdale police are taking a false allegation so seriously. Since this one is just down the road from me, I think a phone call is in order. Maybe I can find out the justification for such a ridiculous charge.

According to police, Homan came into the Hinsdale Police Department lobby May 9 and filed a report alleging a sexual assault had occurred the previous day.
Police said she later recanted her story and admitted the report was false.

Why don’t you try to do a little research and get your facts straight before continually embarrassing yourself with this non-sense. The rate of serious crimes is DOWN, including reported rapes. This stuff is easy to find if you’d spend a minute or two looking.
Budgets are up, yes. But, then again, so are populations and inflation. Dishonest LE agencies could easily point to the reduction in crime with increasing budgets in a disingenuous attempt to fleece the public coffers. Your analysis (or, rather, lack thereof)

And, while the gender-feminist sexual grievous industry has certainly had a net negative effect on the course of law enforcement, the fact remains that the urge amongst men to protect predates written history. The misuse and abuse of that protective instinct by women via false accusations has certainly been around just as long.
Even just a half century ago (before the perversion you keep alluding to), a woman could cry rape, and men would come running with guns and a noose to lynch the alleged perpetrator (another thing you can easily search out). At that time, there was no VAWA, and feminism was but an upstart movement, of nowhere near the power they have today.
Again, your oversimplification fails to explain the real trends we can all see.
Once again, for the record, LE does not purposefully seek to encourage false rape claims, nor do they stand to profit from them.
Why do you persist in that non-sense. You have other valid points that you do make. Get over your misguided hatred of police, and focus on the true perpetrators – those that make the false claims. Think of it this way: if no false claim were ever made, there would be no investigation for police to bungle, no crime to charge and prosecute, and no wrongful conviction.
Yes, these things can and do happen, but it the choice of the false accuser to start the whole process in motion, and to continue on with the lies. It is false accusers who always bear the primary blame.
And, let’s not forget that, as we see so often here, police are also the primary ones who expose FRA’s. But for them, we’d likely never know just how frequent FRA’s really are.

Can you show any information that false accusers were EVER charged 25+ years ago?
I'd seriously doubt it.
It used to be that, if by some chance, it was learned that a woman had lied, the issue would be quietly disposed of, so as to NOT embarrass her (Chivalrous white-knighting was long the order of the day).
But, we can also be fairly certain that, given the all too predictable response of men, that woman have been making false allegations since the beginning of time. They've never needed LE permission nor encouragement to do so. In fact, it a good bet that most rape claims, real of false, were NOT made to LE, but rather to friends and family. LE is NOT the prime causal element in our current situation. They are but a player, and only enter in AFTER an allegation is made to them, and then can act either for the good, or for the bad.
Don't forget that in numerous cases women do NOT take their claims to police, but rather to husbands, boyfriends, and friends (with the most disastrous of ends as those close to the accuser take it upon themselves to avenger her). Your insistence that LE is the focal point for FRA's completely fails to take this reality into account.
The only way to end the current situation is to make the false accusers responsible, not LE. LE often gets it right, and, as such, has NOTHING to answer for. But, the false accuser ALWAYS does.
And, further, how is it that you can be so sure that we have only been in a culture of false rape allegations for 25 years? How do you know that women have not been making false claims just a frequently and easily over the millennia - but without ANY effort to expose them and track their numbers?

I have read that Rape accusations in this country took a nose dive after the case of the "Scottsborro boys" were proven innocent. The Rapelynchings of the Black man took a nose dive also, after the "Scottsborro boys" trial proved that these young girls were lying about being raped. I beleive this is a fact of history.

It's interesting how the feminists whine about false rape accusers being charged, claiming (without proof) that this will "discourage victims from coming forward."
Apparently they don't mind when there is a high profile trial which results in the men being acquitted! But if prosecuting false rape accusers or refusing to prosecute innocent men would deter victims from Coming Forward, why wouldn't the publicity generated by bullshit rape trials deter them even more?
Although the Scottsborro boys were found guilty and sentenced to death -- three times! Wonderful how times change, isn't it?
