Alice Thomson slashed her own face and planted knife on her ex in a bid to set him up over attempted rape claim.A charity worker slashed her own face and then planted the knife in a bid to frame her ex-boyfriend over a false rape bid claim.
Alice Thomson told police Ian Carmichael had attacked and tried to rape her and he was promptly lifted by officers and held for questioning.
But in truth Mr Carmichael had been forced to flee from Thomson's home bare-chested after she ripped off his shirt during a drunken late night argument.
Mr Carmichael had run off in terror to his grandmother's house and was shocked when officers arrived to tell him he had been accused of trying to rape Thomson.
Thomson was allowed to walk free from court after Sheriff Michael Fletcher told her that she had avoided a custodial sentence "by a whisker".
Fiscal depute Julie McAra told Perth Sheriff Court that Thomson and Mr Carmichael had been in the town's Mallard Bar with friends on the day in question. One of the women in the group had become so drunk she had to be taken home, and it was Thomson and Mr Carmichael who assisted her.
The depute fiscal said: "Mr Carmichael and the accused have been in an on-off relationship. At 1.30am there was a scuffle between Mr Carmichael and the accused.
"The accused ripped Mr Carmichael's shirt off. Mr Carmichael eventually managed to break free from her and he ran bare-chested to his grandmother's house.
"At 3.32 am a telephone call was received at police HQ in Perth from the accused, who claimed to have been slashed twice by a knife by a male who attempted to rape her."
When police arrived at Thomson's home, she appeared to have several small cuts to her cheek and she told officers that Mr Carmichael had repeatedly slashed her with a knife.
She added: "She said he had subsequently thrown the knife away in the front garden. The officers went to the front garden and recovered a knife. She told them it was the same knife she had been assaulted with."
The officers also found Mr Carmichael's shirt, but Thomson was unable to explain to them how it had ended up there. She then denied anyone had tried to rape her.
However, she insisted Mr Carmichael had attacked her with a knife and he was brought in for questioning. He denied any knowledge of the knife and alleged it was he who had been attacked.
He was arrested for assault and was only let go when the police surgeon studied Thomson's wounds and decided they were almost certainly self-inflicted.
Thomson, 22, of West Mill Street, Perth, admitted falsely representing to police officers that she had been subjected to assault and attempted rape in Perth on 25 October last year.
Solicitor David Holmes, defending, said Thomson had been doing charitable works for several years and was an "independent spirit, a positive spirit."
Sheriff Fletcher sentenced Thomson to 200 hours community service, and said: "Allegations of this kind are treated very seriously indeed by the court. It puts the police to a great deal of trouble and the person against whom the allegation is made is subjected to a very embarrassing investigation.
"Somebody was taken into custody as a result of this. My first thought about this was a custodial sentence. I take into account that it seems to have fallen through quickly and I will deal with it by a community service order, but you missed custody by a whisker."

No jail time as usual.
I thought jail was mandatory for false claims in the UK?
She cuts her face in an attempt to frame an innocent man, and the penalty is 200 hours of community service?
The UK hates men -- almost as much as the US. That is the only imaginable explanation.
How can anybody conclude that a maniac like this isn't a threat to the community?
Snark,have you read this?

Archivist, here are a couple of legal issues you might find interesting
6. False Accusations
People making false accusations (such as accusations of rape or child sexual abuse) should be prosecuted as a matter of course and police policy, and the penalties should be made equivalent to the penalties involved in the type of crime that the false accusation related to. This is necessary as a deterrent.
10. Law of Evidence
The restrictions on defence lawyers in rape trials must be removed, in order to safeguard the rights of innocent defendants. It is up to judges and juries, not parliament, to decide what evidence is relevant in a given case.
12. Rape
The definition of rape must be restricted, and all attempts to expand the definition of rape to include anything a woman might afterwards wish she hadn't done should be strenuously resisted.

Sorry, I miscounted but, they are important in more way than one.

What kind of perversion has entered our legal system that has fostered this false rape accusation culture.
Gender feminism need to be ripped from the clutches of the law enforcement community. Break the Alliance of perversion.
Break the Gender feminist / law enforcement Alliance of perversion and missinformation.
I am more angry at the perverted law enforcement that refused to press charges against my false rape accuser, than i am at the girl who fabricated the lie, for it is now the perversion of our legal system that is institutionalising the false rape accusation culture.
Girls only get charged for false rape accusations when they accuse a police officer of rape..Does the constitution say that police get better protection from the law than ordinary citizens??
Scott - "I am more angry at the perverted law enforcement that refused to press charges against my false rape accuser, than i am at the girl who fabricated the lie..."
Yes, I'd gotten that impression. Sorry Scott, but that's the real perversion - blaming the police rather than the perpetrator. The police that handle a given case are merely human. They may get it right - as in so many of the stories covered here; or, they may totally F it up - as in your case.
Still, there is no grand conspiracy on the part of LE to target men, to falsify rape claims for money, or to march in lock-step to gender-feminist sexual grievance industry orders. Some times, in some cases, some police officers just plain F-up! And, it's more likely than not that it's due to some chivalrous white-knighting than anything else.
You really need to reconsider putting the blame back where it belongs - on the false accusers.
The recap: just because she cuts her face open with a knife and says that a man did it to her is no reason to think she is a danger to the community (i.e. first class citizens, like women and kids).
The Rape Awareness Center in my college lied to the student body and also to the local community when it made the statement that a woman would never, ever, ever lie about rape, ever.
This dangerous misinformation is a major contributor to false rape accusations nationwide. These organizations should be held responsible for their continued deceit and their funding cut off.
Falsifying a rape should be a felony on its own in all 50 states. Support lawmakers that support change.
"Sheriff Fletcher sentenced...
Sherfff?!?! Is Scottish Law susbstantually different from the rest of the UK? (AoFR?)
...Thomson to 200 hours community service, and said: "Allegations of this kind are treated very seriously indeed by the court. It puts the police to a great deal of trouble and the person against whom the allegation is made is subjected to a very embarrassing investigation."
I'm wondering if Scottish Law allows for victim impact statements. Outside of a very embarrassing investigation, we are also painfully aware that the harms done to falsely accused men extend deep and wide into their lives. One has to wonder if his choice would have been to agree to her doing community service, or if he feels that he has been so harmed as to justify her having been incarcerated.
Scott - "Girls only get charged for false rape accusations when they accuse a police officer of rape..Does the constitution say that police get better protection from the law than ordinary citizens??"
In reading many of the stories posted here, one can easily see how very wrong you are. You blind hatred of police seems to be so distorting your perception of things that even such obvious information fails to reach you.
Yes, LE does make mistakes - often very serious mistakes. But, the correct response i snot to hold every single member of the LE community responsible for the misdeeds of a few. Doing so ranks right up there with holding that all men are (potential) rapists based on what a very few do. [do we really wish to sink to the same levels of illogic and plain old stupidity as gender-feminism?]
From the previously mentioned Men's/Fathers' Manifesto:
13. Police Bias
Instances of anti-male police bias must be recorded, filed, protested about, and brought to the attention of the media and the public. The Police must be made aware of the need to train recruits to avoid anti-male bias in their dealings with the public.
This is what really needs to be done in those case where LE does fail in their duties WRT false allegations (sexual & domestic). They need to be "called on the carpet" to answer for their mistakes. And they need to be taught how to better do their jobs and investigate the claims throughly (and, hopefully, before making and public and embarrassing arrests).
If Le fails to act on a woman's claims, and they turn out to be true (especially if more harm is done because of the lack of police action), you can count on women's groups turning out to protest the failures of the police. men need to act accordingly, and let it be known that we won't stand for sloppy, lazy, nor corrupt police actions either.
The best possible situation would be that all claims are properly considered, and appropriately investigated. Then, if the evidence uncovered supports making and arrest, that is when it should be done (goes for the arrests of false accusers as well). With better efforts put into investigations, fewer innocent men would suffer, and it's likely that more real rapists would be punished.
Are we missing something here? Oh... the DOMESTIC VIOLENCE?
So here's the scoop(genders reversed)... Man rips off woman's shirt in drunken argument, she manages to break free and runs off in terror. Man subsequently self injures with a knife to frame woman with a crime.
Can we NOW spot the dangerous psycho?

The judge in this case is a coward, just like all judges dealing with a false rape accuser.
I thought jail was mandatory for false claims in the UK?
Not with Labour running things.
Still, there is no grand conspiracy on the part of LE to target men,
Then why are men targetted in anti-john stings for soliticing a prostitute? Why are men charge worse than a female if they committed the same crime? Why do cops not charge false accusers?
Masculist Man- "Then why are men targetted in anti-john stings for soliticing a prostitute?"
My comment was meant to specifically address Scott's constant insistence that LE is engaged in a grand conspiracy to both foster false rape claims, and to then help to frame innocent men, because, as he insists that they are being rewarded with truckloads of federal cash from VAWA (although evidence to the contrary has been presented to him several times). p
Yes, LE does tend to "target" male perpetrated crimes, and the courts engage in the worst of double standards. But, this is NOT for money (setting up programs to qualify for federal grants costs considerable more than the grants, even if won, will ever bring in); rather, it is out of a misplaced sense of chivalry and the pernicious idea that the crimes of men are much worse than anything women would ever do.
If LE really wants substantial external funding, they target drugs, guns, and gangs. Rape is but a small percentage of overall crime that they deal with.
And, if LE is corrupt in some local, the money that might be gained from muscling in on drugs, guns, prostitution, and protection rackets is the real inducement.
Arresting, framing, and prosecuting innocent men for alleged rapes typically costs a substantial amount in both time and money. There is simply no profit motive for corrupt LE to pursue.
This idea that is repeatedly put forth that LE can "cash-in" by encouraging FRA's is truly poorly considered.
Why do cops not charge false accusers?
***
Sometimes they do. But if the prosecutor is a stupid twat, there might be no prosecution, anyway.

A lot of guys arrestted for soliciting a hooker usually pay the fine and in some cases pay to go to john school. Both ways the beast is fed.
