Notice that it was her friend who called police. It does make one wonder if the teenager had sex with someone her friends and family wouldn't approve of, so when they found out, she cried rape. I guess until more information comes out, we are left to guess.
Rape in parking garage believed to be false, say police.
PORTSMOUTH — Detectives investigating a report of an attempted rape in the High-Hanover parking garage say the allegations from the teenager appear to be false.
The report occurred on Sunday night, April 11.
According to the city's public police log, a friend of the alleged victim called police at 11:28 a.m. Monday morning to report that the victim was "possibly sexually assaulted at the parking garage sometime last night."
Allegations from the reporting party involve the teenager being dragged into a van by two men who then tried to sexually assault her before she somehow escaped and fled the scene.
Police Capt. Corey MacDonald said detectives spent many hours investigating the case since it was reported. Police now believe the report was false.
"Based on hours of investigation, we don't believe a sexual assault or any attempted sexual assault occurred," said MacDonald. "We don't believe a sex assault occurred in the parking garage, or anywhere else."
The rape report remains under investigation, he said.

Another aspect of this story I found telling was that the women did not go to her own home after leaving the bar (citing illness). Although her own home (and husband) were also nearby, she chose to go to a house that wasn't her own. A house she apparently knew would be empty (everyone else who had been at that house had gone to the bar); and that the other man seems to have also know she was going to. Sounds to me like she was feigning illness as a ruse to get alone withe her lover.
Seems her mistake was calling a friend to tell about the encounter, as that friend relayed the information to her husband.
I comment on The Spearhead post you linked that this story seemed like so many other FRA's wherein a woman is caught-out in illicit sex and cries rape as cover. (I see no indication that anyone mentioned "rape" until after the man had been beaten, and police arrived, demanding answers)
I fully expect to see that an investigation finds just that.
Unfortunately, we will then have yet another instance of and FRA leading very serious injury (and, since he is in a coma, possibly death).

Given the many similar accounts we know of, I suspect that you are correct in your assessment. The kidnap/rape FRA's often seem to be cover for illicit sex (even if it's just sex that friends are disapproving of).
Unlike the previous story, wherein Deputy Prosecutor Joey Self tried to put a "happy face" in the idiocy of calling out SWAT for an allegation of sexual assault, I'd like to see more LE spokespersons address such incidents as I typically hear directly form police officers, in which they have a good laugh at the BS people will try to pull.
If a spokesperson would not try to give such stories respect not due, and just come right out and mock the attempt to use an FRA for cover, while it would shock some PC sensibilities, it would also send a clearer message that LE is catching on to the prevalence of FRA's.
Well, at least I can dream.
Here's another good one, just for laughs:

Accused rapist beaten in revenge
KOMO-TV STAFF
Two men were arrested early Sunday morning after they attacked another man who was accused of raping the wife of one of the assailants.
Issaquah police were called to the 400 block of NE Birch Street around 2 a.m. on the report of a rape. When they arrived, they found a 31-year-old Kirkland man unconscious and bleeding from cuts on his head. He was quickly taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment of his injuries.
Officers learned that the injured man was the suspect in the reported rape. He had been attacked by the woman's husband, a 31-year-old Renton man, and his friend, a 30-year-old Issaquah man, who were at the home when the reported rape occurred.
The two attackers were arrested, taken to the King County Jail and booked for first degree assault. The condition of the Kirkland man is not known. Issaquah police say that the rape suspect and the victim were acquaintances and thus believe that no break-in took place.

I'm sure your heart was in the right place, but, the real victim in that case in now in a coma. So, perhaps we could dispense with the laughter?
The case you refer to [also discussed above] involves the very suspicious circumstances of a women leaving a bar, but going to another house instead of her own, with the injured man joining her there (his seeming to know she was there, and the two of them alone).
There, they had a sexual encounter (only later referred to as "rape"), and during a subsequent c call to a friend, she relates that sex had occurred (again, noting that she may have been boasting of it, since, if she was "raped" she'd have been more likley to call police or her husband instead).
Subsequently that friend (I'm presuming to be another woman) calls the first woman's husband (again, not the police - suggesting that this second women did not view it as a rape either) and related to him that sex had occurred.
Thusly informed, the husband, together with his friend, set upon the first man, who, unlike someone who'd recently committed rape, was sleeping soundly (after a good romp with his lover?) in an unguarded manner.
Only after EMS notified police did was it suggested that this first man had been attacked in response to an alleged rape. prior to that, it seems to have been more of a jealous response to cuckolding.
I'd expect that in the near future, we will be learning that this is another instance of a woman alleging to have been raped in an effort to cover-up her infidelity (ARCI).
