Thank god for video surveillance. One wonders why she filed the false allegation to begin with. And at least she is named.

Lillian Palmer, 23, contacted the Petaluma Police Department at 1:50 a.m. on Wednesday to report that while shopping there alone, she was sexually assaulted by an employee of the 7-Eleven store at 2000 Lakeville Highway, said Sgt. Andrew Urton.
Police officers then accompanied Palmer to the store, where she placed the employee under citizen's arrest for sexual assault. The employee was taken into custody and brought to the police department for questioning. The store manager was called, and subsequently provided security recordings from the store.
After reviewing the recordings, police determined that Palmer had falsely reported the crime to police. The employee was released, and no charges were filed.
Palmer was asked to come to the police department for further questioning, and when confronted with evidence, she admitted that no sexual assault had taken place. She later was booked into Sonoma County Jail for falsely reporting a crime, Urton said.

Surveillance video saves the day. Again!
Thanks for posting, I visit your blog daily
Big brother will have to come to the rescue as to protect everyone if people will still be ignorant of false rape reports or such things
"Police officers then accompanied Palmer to the store, where she placed the employee under citizen's arrest for sexual assault."
That sounds a bit odd.
Mn, sounds like false arrest / kidnapping, does it not?

This must have given the liar some sense of empowerment.
Good, she was named, the victim was not. She was arrested, the innocent victim was not.
These are the 'feel good' stories when the justice system actually works.
Hopefully she will get some time in jail.

The woman from NY that sent an innocent man to jail for 4 yeas was one of the ONLY women that I have ever seen serve even 1 day in jail for a FRA in the U.S
It's almost a given she will get off with nothing.
It's just sick.
If some police file charges for false rape accusations..why do other law enforcement not charge.
I believe the law enforcement that did not charge my false rape accuser was, and is, heavily "gender feminist" dominated.
A rape accusation is a very serious accusation to make, and it is a perversion of the legal community to enable women and girls to make them whenever they feel like it.
Get gender feminism out of our legal system, it is creating perversions of the law.
Hey wait a minute, i thought women and girls NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER lie about rape??
The police must have suspected she was lying from the very beginning. You'll notice that they let her make a "citizens arrest" and just assisted her which is the way it's done. I guess that this was to avoid liability on their part because they now know that most of these rape allegations are bogus. I've noticed that there have been a lot more prosecutions of females who make false rape allegations in the past couple of years and this should be widely published as a deterrent to others who may try it.Cameras are exposing many of these liars but it's a pity that men can't just behave in a normal natural way and have to be on the defensive and always concerned that some woman may accuse them of something.
That's a good point about the citizen's arrest.
Maybe LE is smartening up a little and letting them hang themselves?
This is a good one to keep an eye on for the outcome...
"I believe the law enforcement that did not charge my false rape accuser was, and is, heavily "gender feminist" dominated."
It's possible, but in general, most guys in law enforcement are rather conservative in their political views, and many of them are ex-military. So perhaps they had other reasons.
It could also be that it was handed next door, and the prosecutor's office decided not to charge her. Maybe it was because they didn't think they had enough of case, or maybe it was due to their political views, or some other reason. Lawyers often have a liberal arts background, with bachelor degrees in English or Political Science, from universities that are often dominated by feminist policies and liberal politics. It's not entirely unreasonable that it could effect their judgement.
Regardless, the fact remains that in the U.S. false rape accusers are rarely charged or named in the press, and that is a very serious problem.
Off-Topic:
It's not just the laws that will be co opted by the gender-feminists, it will also happen with the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM). The DSM will new and interesting diagnoses added in the 5th revision:

AfOR - ”sounds like false arrest / kidnapping, does it not?”
I'd hope Pierce might weigh in on this question. My immediate reaction was that there must have been a reason why the Police let her make a citizens arrest. The most obvious reason would be that they lack probable cause (the other “PC”) to make an arrest; but, I also have to wonder if they allowed her to do it so that any liability for that arrest would fall squarely on her alone.
When they can demonstrate PC, police are virtually shielded from any possible retaliation – even if the arrest turns out to be unjustified/unnecessary. It is a part of their normal job.
Now, I would guess that she demanded that this guy be arrested, and those police officers declined (due to a lack of PC), but “assisted” her in her citizens arrest so as to diffuse the situation (even if it was unfair to the innocent man). Yet, by letting her make the arrest, I believe that they left her open to being charged for false arrest. But, pierce would likely have a much better understanding of this issue.
The other thing that jumps out to me about this story is the lack of her motive for both making an FRA, and her reasons for picking this particular guy to name. Again, it goes to my personal pet peeve regarding news accounts seemingly selectively leaving out such important information.
Dis she have some personal beef with this guy, or was he just a convenient person to name in her use of the FRA as a personal alibi to cover her ass for having been involved with someone else?
If she just randomly selected this guy to take the fall for her, it only goes to make the world today that much scarier for men. To think that one could just be doing their job, and have the fact that they happened to be in a situation where it would be convenient to a woman to accuse them be the only reason they could face years in prison and their personal lives and reputations destroyed.
Even though she recanted earlier-on, if she did pick a man wholly at random, I would suggest that she needs to be given a relatively greater punishment to serve as a deterrent for others.
While we all feel bad that women feel afraid to go to certain places alone or after dark. But, what about men needed to feel afraid about working alone or after dark making them an easy target for an FRA?
False rape accusers aren't always smart, thank God!
The current law enforcement / gender feminist misinformation Allinace may be generateing hundredes of thousands of pork dollars into law enforcement offices, but if they no longer protect the innocent..this money is a perversion.
When law enforcement can cash in on male arrest statistics, and not on female arrest statistics..this dynamic leads to perversion of that law enforcement.
Citizens may resist unlawful arrest to the point of taking an arresting officer's life if necessary." Plummer v. State, 136 Ind. 306. This premise was upheld by the Supreme Court of the United States in the case: John Bad Elk v. U.S., 177 U.S. 529.
Falsifying a rape is not a right. It is wrong.
Stop False Rape.
