STORY ONE: Attempted rape leads to Lower Hutt manhunt
Lower Hutt police are searching for two men following an attempted rape this morning.
[FRS COMMENT: Note it wasn't an "alleged" attempted rape. It was an attempted rape in fact.]
A 20-year-old woman was pushed over and indecently assaulted as she was making her way from Farmers Crescent to the Pomare Train Station around seven o'clock.
[FRS COMMENT: The woman "was" pushed over, not "allegedly was pushed over."]
Detective Sergeant Dean Simpson says the two men believed to be responsible for the attack were last seen running south down Eastern Hutt Rd.
[FRS COMMENT: The only question is the identity of the male perpetrators, not whether the act occurred.]
Both are described as male Maori, aged 18 to 20, of thin to average build and approximately 5'7 to 5'8 tall. One was wearing a black hoodie with the hood up and the other wore a white t-shirt.
[FRS COMMENT: Ah, as W.S. Gilbert would say, this merely corroborative detail, intended to give artistic verisimilitude to an otherwise bald and unconvincing narrative. The imaginations of some of these rape liars are astounding in terms of inventing details. Now imagine if you were one of the hundreds of males in the vicinity who matched this description. I suspect you wouldn't be happy with everyone looking at you as a possible rapist.]
Detective Sergeant Simpson says the victim has been left traumatised by the attack.
[FRS COMMENT: The definite "victim" was definitely "traumatised" by the definite "attack."]

STORY TWO: Wellington train station rape 'false complaint'
LATEST: An alleged attempted rape at a Lower Hutt train station this morning was a false complaint, according to police.
[FRS COMMENT: Now, after the truth is known, the news outlet calls it an "alleged" attempt. Why couldn't the earlier story had included that one simple word that would have made it accurate?]
A woman, 20, had claimed she was sexually assaulted while walking to catch the train at Pomare station shortly before 7am.
[FRS COMMENT: Guess what? In the earlier story she had only "claimed" she was raped, too, but that's not how it was reported, was it? And why not? It is difficult to fathom that the news media is so unsophisticated that it assumes every rape allegation is true? Or is it more likely that it has an ideological, politically correct motivation to treat every alleged sexual assault as an actual assault?]
The station was closed till 7.45am while police conducted a scene examination.
[FRS COMMENT: Note the obvious: the police aren't dumb enough to take the word of a rape accuser without more. They actually go out and investigate. Funny, we thought that's what journalists were supposed to do, too. Shows how dumb we are.]
Police said this afternoon the woman admitted while being interviewed that she made a false complaint.
[FRS COMMENT: Do you get it? In the eyes of the news media, a reported rape is a rape-in-fact so long as a woman says so. She alone has the power to release the community from its grip of fear about a scary young male with a dangerous penis on the loose. And too often, she alone has the power to release an innocent young male wrongly arrested for a rape that never occurred. Why? Because the news media -- because ALL OF US -- are too ready to assume guilt on the basis of nothing more than an accusation. The news media ought to be held to a higher standard than the rest of us -- it's their job to report the truth, isn't it?]

Well, assuming NZ is the same as the UK, here is what happens.
Complainant makes rape allegation to Police.
Police immediately contact their buddy in the Press, an unholy alliance in which both know that they more their names are mentioned, the better their careers will be, and the way to do that is court the press at every opportunity.
Journo immediately files the story, which is henceforth going to "belong" to journo and police individuals concerned.
Complainants story turns out to be bullshit.
This is yet more good news for these two in this unholy alliance.
journo gets yet more column inches.
police is responsible for portrayal in the press of the police force as taking rape allegations seriously.
police and journo retire to local bar and start consuming the expense account.
QED
I really like how you showed the before and after Pierce.
That is the way I like to think of things also.
I remember what was said about David Copperefield and the Duke boys and the Hofstra guys all BEFORE it was proven to be all lies.
A lot of people quickly forget the initial reports.
But like Afor was saying the media makes a nice profit form it.
Again I really like how you show the before and after.
This happens in my local area all the time.
You read a story about a brutal rape and then a week later a little article in the back of the paper says it was all a lie.
Also it's nice how they do not even name the woman who lied.
Can media giants be held accountable for the hysteria they generate, and persons who are harmed?? The disproportionate amount of media time given to even false rape accusations has "heightened awareness"..to a degree that it becomes a near klan mentality against even the falsely accused, and the main stream media is a huge part of manufacturing this.
Here is something I always thought was a total double standard.
If you or I would sell lets say a t-shirt with a famous persons image on it an not have permission from the famous person we would be in serious trouble.
But the media can put your name and image out there as a murderer or rapist...very often falsely and without your consent. And you are entitled to none of the money they made by using your name and image.
Anon @ 4:00
dude, that's because nobody trademarks their name and / or photo.
seriously
The imaginations of some of these rape liars are astounding in terms of inventing details.
Well, not really. All they have to do is think of an actual man, perhaps someone they had seen on the street or even on TV, and then just give that discription. This way they can sound convincing and consistant and are not caught giving widely varying discriptions
yeah, all you have to do is look at Tulane's "alleged" incidents of rape and hazing. Everybody is ready to crucify thse poor guys whose only goals are to better the community. How can the media be so stupid.
When we talk about the press in the U.S, we call it the "free press", has main stream media regressed into the... "free from accountability for what we publish"...press.
And when you begin with a presumption of guilt, many people will never abandon it in spite of overwhelming evidence of innocence. If a particular man had been named he would have been ruined. This nonsense has to stop.
...it's their job to report the truth, isn't it?
Oh please-the MSM wouldn't know the truth if it bit 'em in the ass!

I LOVE that comment...so true...I totally agree!!
It really isn't an original description. Half the people in NZ are Maori, and Maori's are a bit like African Americans, or Pacific Islanders - big, burly folk who seem to be able to frighten others just by their stature.
On the whole, though, they're lovely people, with a very rich culture that they've not lost in spite of the colonisation by the British.
There is one consistency between the two articles. At least the alleged rape "victim," false-accusing criminal had her identity protected in both.
Poor, poor woman.
Here you go, all the same story, in sequence.

3PM: A city man who conducted his own legal defence was today acquitted of raping an elderly woman. The jury unanimously found George Northam not...
Worth reading the articles (which are short) in full, to see the impartiality of the press on this one.
And it is all very well putting "allegedly", but it doesn't mean shit when you name the guy, print his photo, and then do a prosecution attorney hatchet job all for google to throw up for the next 50 years.
Worth pointing out, the defendant was FUCKING lucky he didn't crucify himself, only his electing to mount hos own defence, which meant prosecution was forced, legally, to play ball with him as a non professional non expert, is what allowed him to walk.
DO NOT TALK TO THE POLICE.
In todays rag, a 58 year old man just got 14 years for raping a young girl.
He denied it. No previous for anything. Clean record.
There was another young girl who also accused him, but prosecution dropped those charges.
When asked about it prosecution said that "victim" didn't want to take it any further...
the inference is clear, to the prosecution, this is proof, like big ben in the states, see, this isn't the first time this monster has done this.
that and his appearance (think catweasel in a shirt and tie) convicted him.
to those of us in the know, it paints a very different picture indeed, I strongly suspect, especially given the 10-2 verdict, we just saw another innocent man sent to prison for a rape that never happened.

Perhaps the Kiwis report these types of crimes more often, biased or not, but it seems to me there are a whole lotta allegations going on in NZ. One of the things that readers in the US and elsewhere in the Anglosphere may not understand is the historical culture/civilization clash between Maori and those of English descent or the clash between the English and the first Australians. Both the Maori and aborigines were treated as the American Indians and African slaves were treated by the settlers in America. It has led to stereotypes. Movies like "Once Were Warriors" don't help the image of Maori men
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0110729/synopsis or men in general. So, it's no surprise that the false rape accuser identifies Maori young men, just as African Americans are stereotyped and are more often identified and convicted for crimes here in the US.
In contrast, the SBS presentation of The First Australians:
http://www.sbs.com.au/podcasts/Podcasts/first-australians/episode/981/Episode-1-They-have-come-to-stay presents a balanced view of the clash of civilizations and cultures between the aborigines and the English and their struggle for civil rights. To their credit, I think the governments in NZ and Oz have both bent over backwards in an attempt to ensure equal rights and fair treatment, to make reparations, etc. but just as in the US, they are overcompensating, resulting in reverse-discrimination. You Ozzies are fair dinkum far more so than we Americans in response to reverse-discrimination as the Islamic riots that happened there in the past decade show. The side-effects of overcompensation, discrimination, and reverse-discrimination are that our Western cultures are now morally and ethically more vague and obtuse than ever with laws that impose ever-increasing restrictions and penalties for what was heretofore innocuous behavior.
Just as the Maori, First Australians, and First Nations people in the US have been treated as second class citizens, so now are men increasingly being treated in Western societies. It is difficult to overcome bias and prejudice when it is re-enforced by cultural, racial, and gender stereotypes propagated by mainstream media whose incentive is to promote moral panic, fear, and hysteria for profit. When reading these articles, we need to ask, as Roman Consul Lucius Cassius Longinus Ravilla did: "Qui bono?" Good for Whom? Who Benefits?
Main stream media in the U.S. is dominated by gender feminist perverts who have an adgenda.
Afor at 8:19
Could you post a link to that story?
I agree with big Ben. Just because he was accused before a lot of people think he is guilty.
