Woman accused of false assault claim

Probably the most amazing thing on this one is, they are presenting the case to a grand jury. That doesn't happen very often.

Beverly Renee Weir arrested for false report of sexual assault.

JACKSON COUNTY — A South Mississippi woman jailed Wednesday is accused of falsely reporting that she’d been the victim of an alleged sexual assault, Jackson County Sheriff Mike Byrd said.

Beverly Renee Weir, 42, of the 16200 block of Bordeaux Drive, Biloxi, was arrested after sheriff’s deputies started investigating Weir’s claims about being sexually assaulted. Investigators, Byrd said, later determined that Weir allegedly had made up the allegations.

More details about the investigation are expected to be released at a later time, and the case will be presented to a Jackson County grand jury to decide whether to indict Weir on the charge, Byrd said.

The charge carries a prison sentence of up to a year and or a fine of up to $1,000.

Gee, a whole year in jail, and a fine of $1,000. For possibly ruining a man's life. Kind of makes it worth women doing it, if just for fun.

Anonymous - "And she is STILL not even NAMED!"

I'm guessing you meant this for another thread, perhaps this one?

Otherwise, the only thing we don't know about Beverly Renee Weir, 42, of the 16200 block of Bordeaux Drive, Biloxi is her phone number.

Sorry to be snarky, it just been one of those weeks....

Going to the Grand Jury, wooohooo! That's a good thing. Superior Court? Felony? Get her!!!

A year and a day is prison, less is county. At least send her to prison Mississippi!

If my husband's accuser had actually got to serve some time her first time around, she may have thought twice before accusing another.
