No reason why, and false reporting is only a misdemeanor. What is surprising is that she has been charged at 15. That is certainly a rarity.
15 year old charged with filing a false report
FORT WALTON BEACH -- A 15-year-old Choctawhatchee High School student who told police she was sexually assaulted walking home from school has been charged with making a false report.
The girl said she stayed after school for tutoring on Dec. 10 and while she was on her way home at about 4:30, a vehicle with two males inside pulled up behind her. One of the males grabbed her around the neck and put her in the car kicking and screaming, according to an Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office arrest report.
They then took her to an unknown location and sexually assaulted her, she said.
During the investigation, it was learned that some of the facts were untrue. She had not stayed for tutoring that day and could not be seen on surveillance video leaving the school.
Deputies also couldn't find anyone who had seen the incident, despite there being a full parking lot at the time and there being heavy traffic on Racetrack Road. An examination at the Children's Advocacy Center showed no signs of sexual activity.
On Dec. 11, her mother called the Sheriff's Office to report her daughter had lied.
She was charged because her report raised the possibility that other children might be in danger, extra Sheriff's Office personnel and CAC personnel were deployed to deal with the incident.
The charge of filing a false report is a misdemeanor.

It is the perversion of the now dominant Gender / Raunch crowd (who fill the rank and file of America beurocracies) that have fostered and enabled the current false rape accussation culture.
There are NOW so many false rape accussations that the law enforcement community has been told to hide them, or simply re-define what the meaning of is, is, in order to hide them.
Even the ones you hear about here folks are just the ones that slip through the missinformation machinery.

I don't doubt this is true but can you explain why they are still prosecuting these lies from known "serial FRA"? Why is LE not stepping up and protecting the innocent man? Why are they still arresting without more than a few minutes of investigations, and why after someone could NOT have done what they are accused of cuz they were at work, are they still prosecuting and going for 20+ years in prison?
They sure believed this tramp that accused my husband. They, LE, even added some of their own lies to make him look worse.
The last time America was consumed with "Rape hysteria" that turned many of our nations law enforcement communities into a type of "Klan court", was when the Klan, in conjunction with law enforcement were lynching the black man over rape accussations.
It will take bold men, of sound mind (not hysteria mind), to work on "Breaking the missinformation Alliance that has again turned our nations law enforcement into..irrational and hysteria filled "Klan courts".

Do you have any evidence to support this claim?

While there is little doubt that there is some of this going on (I suspect it resides MOSTLY with female dominated Police spokesperson-types), it simply isn't a universal problem.
I sometimes get the feeling that certain poster slap up the same boilerplate posts without bothering to read the articles to see if the comments they are making even fit.
For instance, reread these two sentences from the article:
"During the investigation, it was learned that some of the facts were untrue." &
"An examination at the Children's Advocacy Center showed no signs of sexual activity."
Then, put these two pieces of information together with the FACT that the police DID report this instance of an FRA, so much as calling it just that, and charged the girl (even though no innocent men had been directly affected); and then explain how the claims of massive police cover-ups can be "squared" with this example to the contrary.
Also, do consider that, in order to maintain legitimacy so as to be an effect voice in illuminating the problem of FRA’s to the society at large, it is important to NOT come off looking like a bunch of tin-foil hat wearing conspiracy theorist nor knee-jerk reactionaries.
Feminists have a long-stand reputation for instantly and automatically declaring “men” to be at fault for what ever may happen. They don’t even need to read through the information and glean any pertinent facts to reach their conclusions – and slap up their standard boilerplate responses.
I truly believe that we CAN do better.
"ANSWER : we can subpeona some law enforcement officials if you like??"
So as usual, I guess the answer is no.

But, how would you know which ones would have to answer in a way which would support your notions/assertions?
Perhaps a better way to make your point (because I do believe it has some merit) would be to CONTRAST instance where things are done poorly/incorrectly/dishonestly with those instance where they are done correctly.
This would better serve to highlight those instance which can be pointed out as examples of failures on the part of LE from which others can learn.
To simply applies a one-size-fits-all not only ignores the many instance where situations ARE dealt with correctly, but will also tend to lessen the credibility which others will give to your point.
I hoped I'd never see a story so close to my locality, but this area is all of 10 minutes away from me.
I guess it's time to step up the cautionary level. Damn this criminal girl for such.
What in the heck is happening in the world these days? It seems as though police and prosecutors are finally starting to come around on the whole prosecuting-women-who-make-false-rape-claims thing. This is from the UK. Of course, while the fact that this woman's being prosecuted is great news, there's still much to be pissed about (like the woman's group that is "alarmed" that courts are prosecuting women who make false rape claims and the fact that the judge in this case is more concerned about the reputation of the police instead of the potentially catastrophic consequences that would have befallen some man (or men) had this case gone far enough).
