I really wish that the news organizations would dig a bit deeper. What, during the course of the investigation, made it evident that it was fabricated?
Cecilia Gomez faces charges for false report.
ROSENBERG, TX (KTRK) -- A woman faces charges of filing a false report after Rosenberg police say she made up a story about an alleged sex assault.
Police were called to the Southwest Memorial Hospital on November 8 to investigate a report of attempted sexual assault. According to Rosenberg police, Cecilia Gomez, 23, told investigators that while she was in the custody of the Rosenberg jail on November 7, that the arresting officer went into her cell and asked her to disrobe and had sexual contact with her.
Police say during the course of the investigation it became evident that Gomez had fabricated the story and that there was no evidence to support any type of misconduct on the part of the officer. A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Gomez for falsifying a report to a police officer.
Bond in this case has been set at $1,000. The charge is a Class B misdemeanor and is punishable by a fine of up to $2,000 and /or confinement in jail for up to 180 days.

An important thing to wonder; will she learn a lesson?
Hopefully she will get the jail time. I personally don't think a measley fine of $2000 will do enough to deter her or others from doing this again.

I'd like to see the media dig deeper as well. I just posted this on my Twitter: "What the f? CNN and MSNBC covering fucking Tiger Woods while Fox is the most "newsy" with the lying tool Rudy Giuliani on. I WANT REAL NEWS!" It seems the media these days have a hard time covering anything serious.
Anyhoo, I'd like more information before I would say that the accuser was actually lying. She claimed she was assaulted in jail by the same police department who has now decided she fabricated it. I trust police officers covering their own asses as much as I trust a likely false accuser.

I agree, this one is borderline classification. But, if I'm not mistaken, most jails now have 24/7 video surveillance. Again, I would like to know/see the proof of why they are deeming this false.
When the accused is a cop other cops move to either help cover his ass or move against the person making the complaint. When the accused is a regular guy they move in to fuck him over.
