SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - A wrongfully convicted man has been appointed to a board that advises the Illinois Department of Corrections.
Wilder “Kendric” Berry of Chicago is among members appointed this week to the Adult Advisory Board by Gov. Pat Quinn.
The Center for Wrongful Convictions at Northwestern University says Berry went to prison because of a false rape accusation. Released and exonerated, he now works as a paralegal at a Chicago law firm.
The board advises the department on policies and programs effecting people in prison and on parole. Its other members include a suburban police chief, a county sheriff and a probation officer.
Illinois Department of Corrections Director Michael Randle says he welcomes the newly appointed members of the board.

Cool!
Off topic, but has anyone seen this yet? http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/life_and_style/education/article6890538.ece
One in three teachers has been falsely accused of misconduct by a pupil, a survey suggests.
The Association of Teachers and Lecturers (ATL) said that school staff are having their careers blighted by malicious allegations. One in six teachers has been falsely accused by a parent or other member of a pupil’s family.
I hope this man does all of the right and honorable things for us and all other falsely accused/convicted persons. I still wish he would visit this site. IMHO, this is in no way a small victory for us. I hope this man does and causes good things to happen.

Such a thing does not surprise me at all. I wonder what the percentage(s) are here in the U.S.
Probably twice as bad. Lying and cheating are increasingly rampant.
this is unbelievably excellent, especially coming from the government. If someone had told me, I would have never believed it in a million years unless I saw it for myself.
