Heterosexual marriage does a pretty good parody of itself these days. The "sanctity of marriage" is like the sanctity of the plantation, with all men being the potential slaves.
One of the most powerful refutations of feminism are the illegitimacy and divorce epidemics. By pointing out these social diseases we cast even more light on the related problem of false abuse accusations.
Abuse hysteria is the feminists' method of distracting from the horrific consequences of their anti-family, anti-male ideology.
Why does some idiot troll care if we are 'off topic'? An intelligent troll would be able to find an opening to spew their b.s., no matter what issue came up. What's your I.Q., anyway?
As an aside, I think rather than assuming all radical feminists are lesbians, it's probably are safe bet that many of them are (total) abstainers, or even 'asexual' so to speak. I know that at one point, Catherine MacKinnon dated Jeffrey Masson, the former curator of the Sigmund Freud archives. (Masson's a nut in his own right, but that's a different issue.)
I just mentioned it because it came up in another thread, and I can't remember which one. Someone stated or implied they are all lesbians.
Paul Nathanson, Ph.D. is an example of an MRA who is gay. Together with Katherine Young, he wrote "Legalizing Misandry" We need help from our gay brothers too... all men across all spectrums are potiential MRA's (even some women).
The feminists say that they want equality, but they don't seem to care about the children growing up in this horrible single-mother households. The statistics show that these kids do not have equal rights:
Children from father-absent homes are five times more likely to live in poverty, 3 times more likely to fail in school, two to three times more likely to develop emotional and behavioral problems, and three times more likely to commit suicide.
Why don't the feminists talk about equal rights for this disadvantaged children?
Not all single-mother households are horrible. And what about single-father households? What are the statistics on those? Are single father households better than single mother ones? I've asked this before in other places (I think including here), but I have as of yet recieved an answer.
If they're lesbians then why don't they just fuck off and leave men alone? If you hate men then solve the problem by avoiding them...
I may not agree with every single thing about feminism, but this statement is just ridiculous. Feminism is not about "hating" men, being obsessed with men, or men period. Many of the issues feminism deals with can't be avoided because it's in the culture or it's an incorrect/archaic/etc societal mindset shared by many (whether they are aware of it or not). They discuss issues that face women, and yes men too.
And the whole "evil feminist lesbians" is really getting old.
And perhaps I'm in the dark about this, but what does feminism have to do with the divorce rate? Seems like a stereotypical idea about feminism.
Anon,
For the post on Sep 14, 2009 1:44:00 AM, based on the main idea of equal rights, how does the statistics you posted have anything to do with it? Of course they're problems that need and have been addressed, but they have nothing to do with rights in terms of the law, economy, society.
"Not all single-mother households are horrible. And what about single-father households? What are the statistics on those? Are single father households better than single mother ones? I've asked this before in other places (I think including here), but I have as of yet recieved an answer."
Okay, I'll answer it. According to the HHS, single mother is the most dangerous environment for a child - more dangerous than single father, grandparents, step-parents, etc. (the danger I am talking about is that from the parent(s))
The stats are at www.hhs.gov And are also available in Dr. Stephen Baskerville's book, "Taken Into Custody" ----------------- Also, there is no scientific evidence that women are naturally better at raising children than are men.

This is what feminists have said in the past. I think the words are clear in their intent. Also, I have never heard any feminist contradict these words.
"By the year 2000 we will, I hope, raise our children to believe in human potential, not God." (Gloria Steinem, editor of MS magazine).
Let's forget about the mythical Jesus and look for encouragement, solace, and inspiration from real women.... Two thousand years of patriarchal rule under the shadow of the cross ought to be enough to turn women toward the feminist 'salvation' of this world." (Annie Laurie Gaylor, "Feminist Salvation," The Humanist, p. 37, July/August 1988.
"In order to raise children with equality, we must take them away from families and communally raise them" (Dr. Mary Jo Bane, feminist and assistant professor of education at Wellesley College, and associate director of the school's Center for Research on Woman).
NOTE: Though I am not an especially religious person that is, I have no chosen religious preference. I presented these quotes to point out misandry against two male being who are part of many people's worship simply because these beings are male.
I presented these quotes to point out misandry against two male being who are part of many people's worship simply because these beings are male.
Ok, this is where me a feminism don't see eye-to-eye. I'm a Christian so I understand that God and Christianity isn't misogynistic. The problem was general misconception and lack of understanding or the people who either distorted the Word for their purposes. They were the misogynists and unfortunately since they were representations of Christianity, people thought that the religion and God Himself was/and is a misogynist.
I think that this is why I think most feminists have always had a problem with Christianity. They're basing it on the incorrect idea that Christianity is misogynistic.
I assume that was aksed tongue-in-cheek.
Actually I'm serious. I hear that complaint all the time and I'm thinking "What's the connection". I guess if I meditate and think about it for awhile, I could come up with something. But seriously, laying the blame of the rise and frequency of divorce on mainly feminism??? Really???
The frequent poster "Renee" does not and never has supported this website or any victim of false rape. She continues to use this website with the primary intent of provoking its supporters into an emotional response by attempting to dispute facts and disrupt normal on-topic discussion. To prevent any further interaction, please refrain from responding to any current or future posts from the username "Renee".
Even Forest Gump would see the connection between feminism and illegitimacy rates, especially after he'd read some of the quotes from feminists in which they say explicitly that they want to break up the family and raise children collectively. Do we have to keep putting Renee through preschool? Obviously divorce has everything to do with enabling women at all costs, while treating men unfairly.
Also, please stop making stupid arguments, like comparing single-motherhood with single-fatherhood. When we're discussing the importance of traditional families don't play dumb and pretend that we're discussing something else.
Notice in that story, how they are charged with aggravated assault, maiming, and conspiracy to commit aggravated assault.
Not a single sex related charge in there. Or a false imprisonment. The disparity of the charges, in relation to men accused of rape is, once again, showing the double standard between charging men and women.
Renee,
But seriously, laying the blame of the rise and frequency of divorce on mainly feminism??? Really???
Feminism pushed for no fault divorce, women file 70% of divorces, and get custody in 85% of those divorces. The question I have for you is, How did feminism NOT deserve the blame?
I'd also like to know how we're the bad buys when we comment on hysterical feminist propaganda about all sex being rape and representing the submission of women. Rejecting these horrible lies about men is an "evil lesbian feminist" routine?
Also, please stop making stupid arguments, like comparing single-motherhood with single-fatherhood. When we're discussing the importance of traditional families don't play dumb and pretend that we're discussing something else.
So discussing the importance of traditional family values involves criticizing only single-mother households and not both single mother and father households? I saw the link that Norm posted (thanks Norm) by the way. What I'm getting at is your implication that single-father households are also considered traditional.
I'd also like to know how we're the bad buys when we comment on hysterical feminist propaganda about all sex being rape and representing the submission of women.
Are you talking about those old feminist comments from years ago? I always see guys bringing up comments and beliefs that either were/are abandoned (if it was even widely supported to begin with) or were radical and had never represented Feminism in the first place. Just my opinion really.
I guess what I'm saying is that the feminism of recent years (I thinking the past few decades maybe) and today don't support that idea. Or at least they don't follow it. I mean, don't beliefs and ideas have some radicals?
Besides, sex and rape are two different things. Sex does not equal rape. And all sex is not the submission of women.
Oh and all feminists aren't lesbians and all lesbians aren't feminist. Just wanted to point that out.
And that's the usual bullshit, guys. If you criticize feminism then what we're talking about isn't real feminism. It's just like communists pretending that the Soviet Union wasn't really communist -- that's just phony communism!
Spare me the innocent routine, Renee. Feminists don't care at all about the disadvantaged children who are growing up in single-mother homes, any more than they care when a woman falsely charges three innocent boys with rape. It's all I I I I me me me me. Don't come in here and think that changing the subject or passing the buck is going to cut it. That'll get you out of an argument with a typical naive male; it doesn't work here. We've already seen all of the tricks.
Here is the mainstream feminist position, straight from the NOW website. From 1997 (this is not a new issue): http://www.now.org/nnt/01-97/divorce.html
Frank Furstenberg, a University of Pennsylvania professor who has co-authored a book surveying divorce studies, says most researchers agree "divorce is consequential," but that much of the impact on children "is due to conditions that precede the divorce and have little to do with the actual breakup of the family."
(In other words, the children aren't harmed by not having a father following divorce -- the children were already harmed by the time they had spent having one!)
The solution to this is to give the single mommies even more money and to erase dad from the picture, since daddies are the source of all evil.
This is so utterly ridiculous! You didn't read the link AT ALL or you decided to COMPLETELY twist the words. All it said is that the mother income usually goes down after divorce so economic protection is valid. It said NOTHING of erasing dad out the picture. Here you go putting words in people's mouths and twisting those words to fit your idea!
In other words, the children aren't harmed by not having a father following divorce -- the children were already harmed by the time they had spent having one!
They're not saying that. It didn't even say or imply that PERIOD! That quote basically applies in cases of an abusive father. Geesh are people here THAT dense??? Once again twisting words and putting words into people's mouths.
Also, your "all feminists are lesbians???" and "single fatherhood is traditional???" straw men can fuck off. Quit putting words in our mouths.
What I posted is not strawmen. Funny how you guys throw that word around. I posted what I did about single fatherhood because that was what the poster seem to imply. Or it was a poorly typed post. And I wasn't trying to divert the conversation. I just get tired of seeing the same old insults. Can't you think of anything new if you MUST insult something?
When Pennsylvania passed its no-fault divorce law in 1980, Pennsylvania NOW was not wholly in favor of the move without some guarantee of economic protection for women and children. It is well-documented that after divorce women's income generally goes down, while men's overall income increases.
No-fault divorce laws allow couples to split on the basis of irreconcilable differences without going to trial and without the requirement of establishing fault. Many advocates say it is a fairer way of ending dysfunctional marriages than the fault-based system, which often involves lengthy, expensive legal battles.
Every civilized society must strive to (1) eradicate heinous crimes by punishing the offenders, and (2) insure that the innocent aren't punished along with the offenders. Too often, the second half of that balance is omitted from the public discourse. Accusations of serious criminality, especially murder and sexual wrongdoing, too often are their own convictions in the high court of public opinion because the stigma is so severe. It is our mission to raise awareness about the injustices suffered by persons wrongly accused of serious criminality. Protecting the innocent from unjust harm as a result of a wrongful accusation is a hallmark of a civilized society.

What does this have to do with false rape Steven?
This is a redneck parody on heterosexual marriage. That's all.
Stay on topic.
Heterosexual marriage does a pretty good parody of itself these days. The "sanctity of marriage" is like the sanctity of the plantation, with all men being the potential slaves.

That should read "two," not "one."
If I were a radical feminist, I'd say "goal achieved!"
Mission accomplished for the dad-bashers, child-neglecters and rape fakers.
Isn't it funny when people tell others what to do with their own blogs? Especially when they do so anonymously!
Anyway, i say we give the gays equality not by letting them get married but by banning marriage for straight people - happiness for everyone says I.

For those who don't want to read the link, I'll recap the long-held feminist mainstream views on divorce:
1- Children are not harmed by divorce, except to the extent that they are exposed to the father's anger.
2- Single-mother homes are just as good as traditional (two-parent) homes, except that single mothers have less money.
3- The solution to this is to give the single mommies even more money and to erase dad from the picture, since daddies are the source of all evil.
"Feminism pushed for no fault divorce..."
That is the single biggest contributor to the rise in divorce rate (see Baskerville).
The solution to this is to give the single mommies even more money and to erase dad from the picture, since daddies are the source of all evil.
