Off-topic: Mainstream news media doesn't mention that Iranian male prisoners are treated more severely than female prisoners

Woman's case reflects prisoners' treatment in Iran -- but if you read the story closely, you see that the male prisoners seem to be treated far more severely.

Just sayin'.

The western media can't resist an opportunity to belittle the sacrifices of men and to idealize those made by women. Whatever the situation the women are special and the men are just ordinary.

And here is the difference between real rights and "women's rights":

-Real rights is about limiting the ability of the government to control your life

-"Women's rights" is about government intrusion into every level of society to enable false accusations and enable female self-pity and privilege.

The women are humanized while the men are just faceless prisoners. Whatever happens to them doesn't elicit much beyond a yawn.

That's right. Men are supposed to be disposable; women aren't. Don't lock up the queen bees!

It's sad, because I sympathize with these people who are protesting a cruel government, but it completely turns me off to see this presented as a sort of feminist rebellion. It's not.

Feminism and freedom aren't on speaking terms.

A few minutes later, a young, thin man wearing a suit walked in.

"Do you realize your crime is much heavier than others?" the new man asked Nazy. "Because you are with the ("One Million Signature') campaign."

"I don't even know why I have been arrested," she replied.

He wrote at the bottom of the paper: "to be released on billion rial (about $100,000) bail." He told her to sign the paper so she could go home that night.

Her charge was: disruption of law and order, action against national security, destruction of public property, participation in illegal gathering.

She said did not accept any of the charges.

"Then you will stay right here," he said. "Put on her handcuffs and blindfold and take her downstairs," he told the guard.

Nazy was terrified. She didn't want to stay there alone, and was worried about her family.

"If I sign it means I accept the charges?" she asked the man.

He said the charges would remain whether she signed or not. She was afraid that if she accepted the charges, they would slap a prison sentence on her.

"Don't sign. Stay here until you die," the man threatened her.

The young assistant tried to persuade her to sign.

"Will I then go home tonight?" she asked him.

"Yes. Don't you see you are signing bail?" he assured her.

The moment she signed, the interrogator said: "Put on her handcuffs and blindfold and take her to Evin."

"But you said I will be going home tonight!" Nazy said.

"Who do you think you are that I have to answer to you? Take her to Evin!" the man snapped.
Reminds me of my former public defenders who coerced me into accepting the plea bargain the feminazi prosecutor offered.

IMHO,many male prisoners, unless accused of committing crimes against women, children, the state/government or, society, are authorized to remain faceless because their plight is not considered important or relevant to the media who treat violence and injustices against men as insignificant.

The only crime anybody ends up on a database for is sexual assault or rape -- which is ridiculous, since most people who are on the database assaulted someone they knew (or are innocent). Since that is the case how are these databases supposed to protect the community?

And if they work so well why aren't other criminals also on the databases? The answer is obvious: because that would be an utter waste of resources and a barrier to rehabilitating offenders back into the community, and everyone involved in law enforcement knows it.

IMHO, it seems as if it is all about money. How much money does a state receive from the Federal government to house prisoners?

Are the rights of men not considered worth more than money?
It seems as if gender feminists have trained/molded/brainwashed the law enforcement community to do their bidding. It was claimed ,before VAWA was created, that men were fourteen percent more likely to commit violent crimes than women.
I maintain that both genders are equally capable of committing violent crimes and acts of violence.

We men are still being stereotyped and gender profiled.
If gender feminists and their supporters truely believe in total equality, why is there still a double standard when it comes to how men and women are treated by the authorities?

Because there can be no feminism without double standards.

This was about a female prisoner who was treated extremely unfairly. Does every report about female abuse have to also talk about how males are abused too?

No. What the fuck is your point?

Anonymous said...

Um, I think i can put this one in perspective. It's from a long line of news reports: "WORLD TO END TOMORROW, WOMEN TO BE HIT HARDEST."

THAT'S the point. In every story where there are atrocities, the news media typically covers THE WOMEN. If all the innocent men in a village are murdered after being tortured, and some women are also raped, the news report will be: "Rape and other violations of women's right are rampant in" whatever country.

THAT'S the point.

Has anyone ever searched to see how many men's and women's prisons are in their state? There are about thirteen men's prisons in Tennessee, while there is only one prison for women in Tennessee.

The world headquarters for Corrections Corporation of America (CCA) is located in the state's capital.

They should given the descriptions of how the male prisoners were treated compared to the women.

"Nazy and two other women waited for several hours in a van while more female demonstrators were brought in. It was dark by the time the van, which seated 12, was filled with 19 women plus two female and one male officers. They sat three to a seat, blindfolded, their hands tied to the chairs."

"Every time they said a word, they were smacked in the head. At one point, the male officer threw six heavy bottles full of water on their heads."

"Nazy slightly lifted her blindfold and watched guards hit around 60 men — mostly young — in the head with batons. Blood streamed down their faces and soaked their shirts."

I will say at least one thing for Nazy, at least she mentioned the mistreatment of the males.

I also notice she said "fighting for our rights. Not women's rights but the people's rights? It almost seemed as if the female guard may have misunderstood her to mean women's rights? Maybe I am just misunderstanding that part of the article.

I have a fellow soldier who works in Tennessee's only prison for women. He has also worked at a couple of men's prisons here.We did have a female soldier who worked in both a men's prison and the women's prison.
Both of them described the men's prisons like describing a series of dungeons. They described the women's prison as if it were a cross between a day care facility and a college university.

According to both of them the men were treated like shit, even though they weren't as violent as female prisoners.

My point is that just because there is a story about a female who was treated poorly, it doesn’t mean in and of itself that males are being ignored. Especially as others pointed out, males were mentioned.

They were mentioned by Nazy, otherwise the media wouldn't have said anything about them.
