This is the mugshot of one of the five young men falsely accused of rape by 18-year-old Hofstra University Freshman Danmell Ndonye. His name is Stalin Felipe. He is 19 years old, and the fear on his face is not only palpable but perfectly understandable. We reported the story here. Mr. Felipe and three other men were arrested and jailed until Ndonye finally recanted.Look at his face. Study it. Remember it. Think about those eyes as you read the rest of this disgusting story. At Hofstra on Thursday, lots of students were asking questions, like why Ndoye would make up the story of being gang-raped and whether she should be charged with a crime.
'I'm not sure she should be charged with a crime, but she should be charged with something. She freaked out the whole campus," said freshman Amelia Yu.
'It's not right for her to lie about them.'
'There's definitely an apology that needs to be in there,' said freshman India Nelson.
'But a crime? Probably not.' Hofstra officials have not said if Ndoye will face disciplinary action."

For a crime that nearly destroyed the lives of four young men? For a crime that will trail these young men for the rest of their lives?

Let me put their idiocy, their misandry, into perspective. In 2003, a 16-year-old Maryland boy named Maouloud Baby was convicted of raping an 18-year-old woman in the back of her car. The woman testified that she told the boy he could have sex with her if he stopped when she told him to, but she claimed that when she yelled for him to stop, he continued for five to 10 seconds. Then he stopped. He did not ejaculate but withdrew. He and his "victim" drove to a McDonalds, hugged, she gave him her phone number, and he left. The boy was convicted of first degree rape and other offenses for delaying withdrawal for as little as five seconds -- five seconds, by the accuser's own testimony. (An appellate court initially overturned the conviction because that court read state law to preclude withdrawal of consent during the sex act, but the state's Court of appeals said that the appellate court was wrong -- consent may be withdrawn during the act, and it remanded the case for a new trial.)
In the Hofstra false rape case, four young men were jailed for twenty-two hours and subjected to almost unspeakable anxiety. The long-term repercussions of their ordeal may never fully disappear from their lives. Until the day they die, this false allegation likely will be the defining event in their lives.
Get it? Five seconds versus twenty-two hours.
And Hofstra students don't think, or aren't sure if, her failure to spare these men from their ordeal, or to release them from the hell she created, is a crime?
When the genders are reversed, a delay in withdrawing from intercourse for FIVE SECONDS is a first degree felony. But when a women delays in withdrawing a false rape claim for twenty-two hours, when all the while she had the power to release her victims from their torment, that isn't even a crime? And that really gets to the heart of the matter. Our twisted society insists that women belong on pedestals. It jails young men based on nothing more than their say-so. Four men swear no rape occurred, but since one woman says it did, they are jailed. Let us be honest, gentlemen, this society doesn't give a flying fuck about our young men. As twisted as her logic is, there is a tiny kernel of truth to it. What she is ridiculously referring to as "rape culture" is really a chivalrist culture that claims that women don't desire sex just as much as men -- which is nonsense. She is saying that false rape accusations are supported by chivalrist male fucks (love that, by the way) as a way of asserting that women are pure, women are holy, "real women" never degrade themselves by having five guys penetrate them at once.
This isn't "rape culture," but it is chivalrist culture, which puts women on a pedestal. The huge fallacy that she is resorting to is equating the "shame" of people disapproving of the woman's act of consensual sex with the horrors of being falsely accused of rape. There is no comparison between the two.
She's also hinting that this woman would not have told that lie if it weren't for the judgmentalism of society toward women -- which is bullshit; the women who lie about rape are primarily out of attention.
So basically, when feminists talk about "rape culture" what they mean is "culture that calls women sluts while also calling men studs for the same behavior." At least I think that's what they're up to.

One need not deny the horrors or rape to acknowledge that false rape claims are a significant, largely unaddressed problem. I am familiar with every major study on the prevalence of false rape claims, and every serious, unbiased study shows that they are a significant problem. They are largely unaddressed because the crime of making a false rape report has become unnecessarily gender-politicized and improperly removed from the public discourse about rape. We need to ditch the politics, and the ideology, and start treating both rape AND false rape claims what they are: serious crimes.

It doesn't matter "why" she lied - the important issue is that she DID lie, and the boys have video to prove it.
If women don't start to distance themselves from women like her, quickly, and continue to stand by her lies and their lies that women don't lie, the credibility of any rape accusation is going to start to go down.
This may be a turning point - there is so much buzz about this case that they may pillory this woman just to save face. If women had any sense at all, they would be screaming for her head due to all the damage she has done to their credibility.

Oh, it definitely is hurting them. I know of guys who simply say that they don't believe any accusation of rape. Remember the old fable of the boy who cried wolf.
There is also a growing number of men who resent women's callous attitude toward men in these situations (Commin's famous comment, for example) and as a result are experiencing a severe compassion-and-outrage depletion when they hear such stories. Women who vigorously defend the destruction of men's lives do their sex a grave disservice because people naturally begin to care less about a group of people who demonstrates that they are the enemy.

What a joke. The boys were arrested and were on the fast track to be Nifonged - except the woman missed the one small detail that one of the guys had a video. The sleazebags knew they were had and that if they didn't back off the scam the video would be made public and all their careers would go down the tubes.
I expect a lot more videos will be made in the future and a lot more liars and their apologists will be exposed. Women seem pretty much determined to force men to gather and show evidence of how perverse they have become.
Personally, I think it is a bad strategy which will really backfire on women, but also one which is long overdue.

No, because the rape victim is never discriminated against, is never denied work opportunities, isn't cast out from the community because of what happened. The victims of false accusations suffer all of these things and worse -- even if they are cleared! Victims of false accusations are also forced to pay ridiculously high legal fees just in order to preserve their freedom. No comparison there at all.

I wouldn't dream of asking anyone to sympathize with the the victims of false rape accusation when the subject under discussion is a genuine rape.

It's clear that this creature is one of those whose goal in life is to do as much damage to men as she possibly can. With that in mind, she is providing a valuable service here in educating men about the realities of the women they will have to deal with in their lives.

These guys were lucky, in a way. They learned a very valuable lesson about women and the culture, and did so without spending 25 years in prison - which they certainly would have done because I doubt that their parents would have had the $5,000,000 to cover their legal fees.
They are kind of like some guys I knew in HS who got drunk, totalled their cars in horrible accidents, and lived to tell about it. It was certainly a life-changing experience for them, but fortunately not a life-ending one. Most of my HS friends never got that drunk and drove again. Hopefully these boys will learn the same level of caution in dealing with women.

Not sure if anyone else mentioned, but Hofstra suspended the false-accuser, reinstated the one falsely-accused who was a student and are "providing him with assistance with the transition, including moving to a new dorm if he so chooses."
Can't say much for the failure of prosecutors to press charges against her (or why the 5 falsely accused aren't vociferously calling for charges), but I think Hofstra deserves a little credit at this point.
This just makes me sick to my stomach. This woman should be thrown in jail for 5 consecutive sentences equal to what these boys would have suffered if she had kept her mouth shut.

The fact they reinstated him is a nothing point nor is the fact they are willing to help him move.
They shouldn't have suspended him AT ALL! He had not been proven guilty of any wrong doing. These people are just enabling false accusers by giving the appearance of some wrong doing by acting as if there was one WITH NO PROOF.
In any crime at any time the word of the victim should NEVER be proof. Nor the word of the accused. They both have too much to lose. Which means without any other evidence they shouldn't even be able to arrest these men. They should then investigate the crime and if it comes to light that she had OBVIOUSLY misled the justice system, then charges should be pressed.
I'd even be gracious enough to allow regular misreporting charges to apply if the men were left totally alone. Their lives left intact.

I think that Jeana and many others fail to recognize the long term consequences of being falsely accused of rape. Rape and other violent crimes certainly can cause trauma and have lasting psychological effects, but a false accusation of rape creates a permanent cloud of suspicion over the victim.
Right now, those boys may be smiling because they have been exonerated. But five years from now they will still be on the internet, and the employer who is reviewing that application isn't going to be interested in whether or not the accusations were true. The only thing that matters to people is that they COULD have been true, by some ridiculous stretch of the imagination. "Investigated" and "charged" are basically the same thing as "convicted" in the mind of the average idiot.
No other crime victim suffers this level of persecution, because false rape accusations are a crime that is enabled by the state and by society at large. It's the crime that keeps on giving, long after the truth has been forgotten.

I'd like to see you try and cite a place on this site where someone has said that REAL rape victims (ie not the idiot who got the 16-year-old jailed for "rape" after he didn't stop immediately) don't suffer for a significant amount of time.
In short - Yes, we do say it. I've read Tegan Wagner's "The Making of Me: Finding my future after assault", and I learned a lot about what rape victims go through from her recounting of it.
