Hollywood whips up some misandry to tingle your spine

Coming to a theater near you September 18th, a rapturous feminist call to bloodlust, a vengeance porno flick with the soul of a grindhouse potboiler, and the best male-bashing feast served up by Hollywood in years.

Female director Karyn Kusama and female screenwriter Diablo Cody (Juno) have concocted what promises to be a delicious confection of misandry called "Jennifer's Body." Here's the trailer's URL on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYQ19JM_M1g Here is how IMDB describes the plot: "A newly possessed cheerleader turns into a killer who specializes in offing her male classmates." Example here. And here's some good feminist dialogue that treats all people, regardless of their gender, as full human beings (it pops up at 1:15 into the trailer):

Needy Lesnicky: You're killing people?

Jennifer Check (played by Megan Fox): No, I'm killing boys.

So is the feminist sensibility intentional? How could it be otherwise? "With the male body count piling higher and higher, filmmakers insist that the movie has a feminist message." Jennifer's Body Aims For "Delightfully Exploitative" Feminism ". . . horror movies are so often disgustingly sexist- it’s nice Diablo’s turning it on its head," says thefbomb.com And Bitchmagazine.com weighs in: ". . . [T]he film will likely be a big improvement over most of the torture porn and the slick, mean-spirited horror remakes that are so in fashion these days."

Yeah, a big improvement because in this film, oh, I don't know, only teen boys are being murdered instead of both teen boys and teen girls, as occurs in the vast majority of horror films, right? (One of the most endearing traits of radical feminists is how they recharacterize reality to fit their twisted metanarrative; for example, they would have us believe that the typical horror film consists of nothing but nubile female female flesh being offed by a predatory male monster in order to give the predominantly young male audience boners. In fact, these films mirror real life a lot more than most people care to admit: young males are almost always treated as completely expendable, and the last man standing is always a woman. But, hey, why let the facts get in the way of a good feminist metanarrative?)

If you have any doubt that the feminists are anxiously awaiting this film, here's a typically abstruse and full-of-herself feminist comment on the film by Sady at Tiger Beatdown. Warning: do not read this pretentious male-bashing-diarrhea-of-the-keyboard on an empty stomach: "THE SUBVERSIVE CRITIQUE OF PATRIARCHAL SEXUALITY starts, in this trailer, right around the point when Naked Megan Fox, Professional Hot Lady, extends her mouth to about five times its natural size and eats a dude with it. Because: female sexual desirability is simultaneously prized and demonized. Female appetites, sexual or otherwise, are unilaterally feared and shamed. Women's mouths, like most of our potentially dude-pleasuring orifices, are eroticized. Yet the 'devouring' or 'toothed' vagina is an ancient bogeyman." Sady at Tiger Beatdown does find the line in the trailer about boys not being people "funny." I mean, who wouldn't? It's so delightfully subversive of the reality feminists have invented, isn't it?

But Worst Previews doesn't get this film at all: "Now, this is all being painted in some quarters as some kind of feminist statement about teenage girls and the horrors of having guys want them. I fail to see the feminist statement of an attractive woman killing men who dare to have a perfectly natural response to her. Was she raped or assaulted in some way? Tormented by boys she didn't want to date? Then she'd have a beef, but that doesn't seem to be the case here."

And that's just it. They don't need a beef to "get back" at men and boys. They are content to use the "reality" they've manufactured from whole cloth as justification for their misandry -- a "reality" that insists one-in-four women are raped and that only two percent of all rape claims are false, a "reality" where women generally are subjugated and men and boys generally are evil predators. In short, a "reality" that doesn't exist in the real world.
