A short and sweet report of a false rape accusation used as retaliation against someone that Marybeth Baker knew. What the retaliation was for is unknown.
Marybeth Baker arrested for false rape claim.
Gloversville Police arrested a city woman last week for lying to them about an alleged rape she reported back in April.
According to police, 40-year-old Marybeth Baker filed a complaint on April 26th of being raped by someone she knew while on the Rail Trail.
During police investigation, though, Baker admitted the complaint was false and that she'd lied as retaliation against the suspect.
Baker was arrested June 12th and charged with misdemeanor falsely reporting an incident.

Hey, wait a minute...I hear all over the place that women and girls..NEVER, EVER, EVER, lie about rape.
Why would they lie about something like that??? I read somewhere the biggest reason for women/girls making a false rape accusation was she was late for work, or school, ect. If that is the case, and she can make a false rape accusation(and society is enabling her to do it)simply because she is late for work...THAT IS DISGUSTING!!!

Too bad she was only charged with a misdemeanor.
