Here's a pretty good example of why a woman would lie about being raped.
Susanna Maria Coetzee's extortion using a false rape claim.
The date seemed to be going well until the 37-year-old man and the woman he met online went to an Anaheim hotel.
That's where she allegedly demanded a check in exchange for sex. When the man -- identified in court papers as John Doe -- refused, she began yelling that she had been raped and left the hotel, according to police.
The woman, 28-year-old Susanna Maria Coetzee, was charged Wednesday with attempting to extort $15,000 and filing a false rape report.
Investigators said the two met on seekingarrangment.com.
Police said Coetzee was "begining to have consensual sex" with the man at the hotel April 2 when she pulled away and asked for a check. Hotel security investigated after Coetzee left the hotel and reported the case to Anaheim police.
Coetzee also filed a report with Anaheim police. She claimed the man raped her and struck her on the head with the handset of a phone, according to the report.
Two weeks later, Coetzee sent "several dozen" text messages to the man in an attempt to extort $15,000, police said. In exchange, she told the man she would drop the allegations against him, police said.
Coetzee was arrested Tuesday when she arrived to exchange a letter that cleared the man in exchange for $5,000 in cash, police said.
Coetzee faces a maximum penalty of three years in state prison. She was being held wihtout bail on a probation violation, police said.Link:

RADAR ALERT: Judge Judy Tells False Accuser: "You Didn't Play Fair!"
http://news.mensactivism.org/node/12463
This reminds me of what my false accuser asked me when she falsley accused me of something serious, before she called the police and claimed I waved a still non existent gun at her. She asked " do we,I, nedd to call the police or, what?
they'll probably punish her more for the probation violation than the false rape charge.
Aren't those match making services supposed to make it easier to screen out nut cases?
I think there's some merit in being specific about what kind of false rape accuser we're dealing with - this one is clearly a "False Rape Extortionist".
The blanket term "False Rape Accuser" doesn't communicate enough about the nature of her crime, and allows common criminals to blend in and benefit from the public sympathy that goes out to women who falsely accuse because of psychological disorders.
There is already an identifiable subclass of "False Rape Fraudsters" who lay false charges specifically to collect state assistance money in those countries that offer it. The interesting thing about countries with extensive welfare is that up until 20 years ago, welfare fraud was treated with the same seriousness as false rape fraud is today - ie none at all. Now welfare fraud is recognized as a serious crime equal to any other kind of fraud.
The False Rape Extortionist in this story is immediately seen in a different light when the right description is used.
As with any other problem, analysis and categorization are part of the solution.
The men in our legal system, and law enforcement system who are enabling false rape accusers, should be made to feel what a false rape accusation does to an innocent man/boy.
Some of them already do, Scott. Maybe false rape, sexual assault and other false accusations would be taken more seriously if what you propose began happening more often.
Of course, what a great site and informative posts, I will add backlink - bookmark this site? Regards, Reader.
Anomymous - Please STOP this, she has been discharged, and is innocent - there was another person involved who planned the whole scenario, it is still being investigated. Who started this anyway - well you have done it, "MAYBE SHE IS NOT THE ONE," YOU WERE RIGHT, SHE WAS NOT THE ONE!
Nobody is reading these old posts -- we've done hundreds since this. What's your authority for your statement -- it might warrant an update.
