Men as collateral damage: Teacher's life destroyed by teen who admitted lie, and possibly by the D.A. who put him on trial despite the admission

Comment: Innocent men are collateral damage in the war on rape, as we have said many times; this is all the more true when an allegation of sexual misconduct concerns a child.

This case is egregious. There was zero concern for the innocent man. None. The fact that his life was destroyed means nothing to anyone outside his family, it seems.

Read the story below -- it is shocking. A teacher's life was destroyed because a teenage girl lied that he had taken indecent liberties with her. The teenager admitted to the teacher's wife in an email that she made up the whole thing because she sought revenge against the wife for reporting that the girl intended to commit suicide. As we all know, a rape lie won't work against a woman; this vile tool only works on men, and it worked like a charm on the woman's innocent husband.

The teacher's attorney says he turned the email over to the District Attorney -- who nevertheless proceeded to put him on trial for indecency with a child! Perhaps there's more to the story that the D.A. hasn't revealed. All we know is what we read in this story.

The teacher lost his teaching job, and his child was taken from him. The jury saw through the lie and quickly acquitted him. But not before the accusation destroyed an innocent man's life.

The district attorney made this astounding comment: "We firmly believe these cases must be tried to a jury, and we will continue to be strong advocates for child victims."

Tried to a jury -- even after the child admitted her lie? Have you no duty whatsoever to be an advocate for innocent men falsely accused of this vile crime, sir? Men like this teacher whose life was ruined by a lie?

Shameful! Absolutely shameful!

The teacher's only crime in this case was being born male. Too often in our toxic false rape culture, that's sadly enough.

HERE IS THE NEWS STORY:

Teacher cleared of indecency charge

Attorney says child confessed in e-mail, lied to authorities

By ALLEN ESSEX

Valley Morning Star

BROWNSVILLE - A former Harlingen High School teacher has been cleared by a jury of a charge of indecency with a child after the child confessed in an e-mail she lied to authorities, his attorney said.

Defense attorney Michael Young said his client, Andres Chavez Rodriguez, is relieved that a 404th state District Court jury on Wednesday found him innocent after deciding in less than an hour of deliberation the allegation against him was false.

Cameron County District Attorney Armando Villalobos confirmed on Friday that Rodriguez was found to be innocent of the accusations.

Rodriguez was at first suspended by the Harlingen school district, then later forced to resign his teaching position, Young said.

"He would like to go back to work at Harlingen High School," Young said of Rodriguez.

The accusation destroyed Rodriguez's life, Young said.

"When he was arrested (in 2007), the Child Protective Service at first took his 2-year-old daughter out of his home," Young said.

Later, after investigating the accusation, CPS found the charges to be unfounded and returned the child to Rodriguez and his wife, Young said.

The couple and their daughter continue to live together as a family.

"The young teenage girl who accused Rodriguez later sent an e-mail to Rodriguez's wife, Leslie Rodriguez, admitting she had lied to get back at her for reporting her intention to commit suicide, Young said.

Even though he turned over a copy of the accuser's e-mailed confession to the DA's office before the trial, his client was put on trial anyway, Young said.

Villalobos issued a statement Friday that confirmed Young's account of what transpired in Judge Elia Cornejo-Lopez's courtroom.

"The defendant, Andres Rodriguez, was acquitted of indecency with a child," the DA said.

"We respect the jury's decision. These types of cases are difficult due to the sensitive nature of the allegations and the age of the victim.

"We firmly believe these cases must be tried to a jury, and we will continue to be strong advocates for child victims," Villalobos said.

Harlingen school district officials did not immediately respond on Friday to a request for a comment.

I remember when people used to think; "what if that were my daughter"? To this day it seems nobody asks "what if that were my son"?, when a man is falsely accused of rape, sexual assault or, any other crime.

This is what happens when you have a system where DA's are voted into office. What the hell is that even about anyway? You Americans are crazy.

Yet another victim of a politically ambitious snake in the grass.

Where is the teacher's union coming to this man's defense? He needs to be reinstated immediately.

And I grow weary of people saying, "What if it were your daughter?" My response is, "What if that teacher were -- ME?" Sorry, your daughter has no more rights than an innocent man.

You work hard all your life to do the right thing, only to have some angry little girl, seeking revenge against your wife, try to send you to prison for a decade? She can't destroy your wife because she was fortunate enough not to be born with a penis, so she lies about you. And the D.A. hides behind the jury process. What have we come to? What, would this D.A. also have put the Duke lacrosse boys on trial? I guess so, since there wasn't even an admission in that case that the stripper lied.

District attorneys that try to feed innocent men/boys to the gender feminist klan mob, should be held accountable.
The faulty and inflammatory rhetoric that has inflamed a prejudice against innocent men (2% false accusation myth)should be called what it is.."hate speech".
The reason the gender feminist quack scholars give for feeding the public the 2% myth..is silly, irrational, and prejudices against innocent men.

Scott, I think you're right about feeding this man to the lions -- er, the gender feminists.

Scott - "District attorneys that try to feed innocent men/boys to the gender feminist klan mob, should be held accountable."Indeed! There's even a relatively new verb to describe their actions - "Nifong", as in "to Nifong" or "to be Nifonged".

In the past, there have been untold number of instances where some status-seeking DA has forged ahead against an innocent defendant just for the "headlines" or to increase his/her reputation within the bar.

While the innocent young men involved in the Duke scandal/fiasco, what was gained was the wide-spread recognition that certain officials will try to use abuse the power of their office to make a name for themselves, regardless of underlying facts.

Also, it's become harder for false rape apologist to make the case that, do to the highly charged nature of the referenced crime, such false rape charges are an ideal circumstance for status-seek charlatans to latch onto.

Hitherto, they have faced little possibility of any public backlash, being able to hide behind a false mantle of "protecting the weakest from the most vile".

But, in his self-aggrandizing zeal, Nifong failed to realize that world-wide attention to the case was actively mishandling would, when the truth came out and it collapsed around him, also provide exposure of the type of judicial misconduct in which he chose to engage.

In a sad, twisted way, the free world has disgraced DA Michael Nifong to thank for doing so very much to help expose the cold hard fact false rape claims.

Thus, the verb is dedicated in his dishonor.

While Cameron County District Attorney Armando Villalobos seems to have failed to get the message, many other DA’s now realize that when it can be proven that they knew of the innocence of a defendant, yet stubbornly refused to do what is right (and, which as officers of the court, they have an ethical duty to do), they can (and should) be brought up on ethic’s violation charges.

Hopely, our victim in this case, Andres Chavez Rodriguez, will demand that his tormentor (Villalobos) be so charged. A few well-deserved disbarments would go a long way towards the laudable goal of ending prosecutorial misconduct.

Perhaps if Pierce Harlan is familiar with Texas law, he might wish to attempt to contact Rodriguez and offer support and advice in how to bring up misconduct charges. I would imagine it would require going through the states Attorney General’s Office. That agency might well be adverse to dispensing needed discipline upon prosecutors, so he should think to bring along a sympathetic member of the press to help hold them accountable to the duties of their office.

BTW, Did anyone see the "policy" of the Valley Morning Star's backhanded way of preventing public comment of stories such as this one?

"Oh, it's easy, just register, create you're own blog, and then you can express your opinion - of course, the published story will not have any link to your new blog, so our readers won't be bothered by your potentially unkind and politically incorrect words."

Well, I've got to admit it - that's a very effective way to silence criticism.

scott says..from here on out i am going to use that word "knifonged", for it so eloquently, and accurately describes exactly the dynamic of what it means when misguided law enforcements officials try to railroad innocent men/boys, to feed off the public hysteria.

Innocent men are the targets of the war on rape, not collateral damage. This is not about innocent mistakes, but about a deliberate campaign to demean and intimidate men as a social class. This is about propaganda, not crime.

You know what they say -- "the opposite of love is not hate but indifference." From everything I can see, they are indifferent to innocent men, which may be worse than hate. Their goal is to nab rapists, and they have deluded themselves into thinking rape is rampant. They would rather not nab innocent men and have another Duke lacrosse because it interferes with their p.r. efforts, which are all about fomenting rape hysteria. They aren't out to nab innocent men, but they don't care much when they do.
