Comment: Yet another case where technology saves an innocent man from a possibly horrible fate. One can only shudder to think of all the cases where men have been spared jail time because the accuser and the accused are caught on video behaving in a consensual manner.
Woman who reported rape in Putnam County is jailed, charged with making false statements
The woman who accused a lawman of raping her on March 13 has been charged with six counts of making false statements and writings, according to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Howard Sills said deputies obtained a court order and reviewed phone records that revealed 22-year-old Eleni Marie Honiotes was either text messaging or on the phone the entire time she reported she was being raped.
Deputies also interviewed the people Honiotes was talking with, Sills said.
Sills said he personally arrested Honiotes, of Eatonton, at her job at Reynolds Plantation at 2:41 p.m. today. She is being held at the Putnam County jail without bond pending her first appearance before a judge Friday.
He said each of the six counts of making false statements and writings stems from drawings and conversations Honiotes had with law enforcement.
Honiotes initially told deputies she was driving from downtown Milledgeville along U.S. 441 just after 10 p.m. when a silver or gray-colored unmarked car flashed police lights, pulling her over.
She said a light-skinned black man raped her after flashing a badge.
Information from The Telegraph Archives was included in this report.

Thats funny, my false rape accuser was texting people at the time she told the police i was raping her.
Rape is a very serious crime, and falsely accusing someone of that IS VERY SERIOUS. People wanted to put me in jail for a long time over her lies,Why was my false rape accuser not charged with anything??
I'd like to hear the answer for that question as well as,the question ; "why would a woman lie about being raped", from a feminist, even a radical feminist.
" People wanted to put me in jail for a long time over her lies,"
This typical knee-jerk reaction doesn't surprise me. Our society has been programmed by the feminist movement to believe everything that feminists have to say. During the first forty years that radical feminists spewed their vitriol and hatred against men, few men dared to contradict and challenge them and the horrible and outlandish things they said about men. I mention two names; Andrea Dworkin and Valerie Solonas. It seems that without much opposition, what women like these had to say was taken as fact, even though we know better. Feninists who now claim no allignment to the radical feminist movement, have yet to contradict the notion of all women being victims of men.
Why was my false rape accuser not charged with anything??
" Why was my false rape accuser not charged with anything??"
Because the system still doesn't believe that a woman can lie about rape. Even many real rape victims refuse to believe that a woman can lie about being raped or sexaully assaulted.
Along with being another good example of technology being used to protect men from false rape charges, this also seems another good candidate for a case where the false accuser ought to be compelled to make a public apology (along with paying the costs).
As a means of demonstrating the answer to that much needed question, "why would a woman lie about being raped?", I'd further suggest that such false accusers be compelled to declare their motives as a part of their public apologies.
No further explanation is provided in this particular story, but it seem that this incident could well be another attempt to hide some other misdeed by the woman (an affair, perhaps), or just another woman seeking attention.
I think it would do the "public" much good to hear that women DO have a multitude of reasons to lie about being raped.
Of course, the "cruel and unusual" whining would probably quickly come onto play as a means to shut-down such public scrutiny of womens behaviors.
"hasn't this poor woman already suffered enough in being exposed as a liar, your honor?"
"hasn't this poor woman already suffered enough in being exposed as a liar, your honor?"
NO! Now sit down and keep your mouth shut or I will hold you in contempt and recommend you be charged with "perverting the course of justice."
Wouldn't that be a great thing to hear a judge say? I know, never going to happen, but I refuse to dream. :)
sorry, that should say:
I refuse to stop dreaming.
slwerner says
"I think it would do the "public" much good to hear that women DO have a multitude of reasons to lie about being raped."
I believe the false Rape society is the most comprehensive accumulation of false rape accusations that i have ever seen, and maybe future academics will refer to this site to try and answer that question.
I have been doing my best to spread the word about this site in the most positive manner.
" I think it would do the "public" much good to hear that women DO have a multitude of reasons to lie about being raped. " You are correct SlWerner, it definately would. You are also correct Scott, the media and the fields of academia NEED to pay attention to this and take it seriously.
I think it's funny that I have other info on this and they didn't mention at all that the incident occurred in an area with no cell reception. I would love to know how you can be playing on your phone while driving in an area with no cell reception.
