Girl, 17, faces fake rape charges

A 17-year-old Lebanon girl faces two criminal charges for lying about an alleged rape.

The girl was charged with making false reports to law enforcement and unsworn falsification to authorities, according to a news release from the Lebanon County Detective Bureau issued Friday.

The girl initially made verbal and written rape and prostitution allegations against an adult, the bureau said. She later admitted neither happened and that the accused perpetrator was not involved.

No further details were released, including the date of the incident.
