Jury acquits teen who claimed girl falsely accused him of rape

Indiana teen acquitted in rape case. Indianapolis - A Marion County jury acquitted an 18-year-old Warren Central High School Student of rape charges for an incident that allegedly happened at school, according to The Indianapolis Star. Prosecutors said Michael Bell tried to rape a 16-year-old girl in May 2007 in a stairwell near the school's southwest gym. He claimed from the beginning that it was consensual and that the girl involved made a false rape allegation.

Comment: Note that a woman can lie about consensual sex and, without any further evidence, force a man to fight for his freedom in a trial. We don't know what happened here, but a lie, like a rape itself, is a powerful, evil tool.
